don't talk to me about blinds, bought a blind for the bathroom for the house i rented before i bought this one, that was find but then realised that the window was framed with metal and impossible to drill into :-/

then had to change where i put it and it looked ridiculous Mad

was not impressed as it was too small to go outside the window as i'd had it measured to fit inside the window frame - gggrrrhh

    Hi Helen,

I think they are very, very good excuses to go camping and get away from it all.

If John doesn't work weekends that is, and if he does god help him he will be knackered with no sleep all night.

    lol!

Wish we could Lorraine but John doe's work some weekends and yes he is knackered with no sleep, we do have a campsite that is far enough away from the noise but John refuses to go local and go to work whilst camping. affraid Next time out for us in September now, its been an odd kind of year so far.

Hhmmnn there is a lot of swearing coming from the bedroom, It is going inside the window recess behind the extra glazing we have but I am thinking it may have a large gap around the edges by the time its done....... Good job we have curtains too. pale

Went on the Motorway yesterday and there is a big sign saying works starts here July 25th for 6 weeks.......... the last few weeks has only been to set it up ready by digging the central reservation up and creating a bridging system for when the real stuff starts. Evil or Very Mad I may take up residence at a local campsite in my Dandy yet.

In hospital yesterday my bed was right next to the office window and I read a sign that was on the wall for the staff

    Budget cuts/cost saving

Do not prepare wristbands the day before but only when the patient arrives on the ward

Only allow a patient to use a bed if it is necessary - laundry costs

Do not offer or provide refreshments to carers or relatives

    Doctors letters cost £4.60

    Red Cartridges cost £
cant remember exactly but it was just over £22

Following a procedure offer the patient tea or coffee, only people with diabetes should be given a biscuit

If you can think of any other ways to cut costs please contact -
    Can't remember the name

We used to get toast never mind a biscuit and yet they are building lots of new wards and departments at our hospital due to the closure of others, my consultant has also had his budget cut by half and that means that patients who were treated every 4 months now only get treated every 6 months and that means two months of pain for many Mad

don't worry Helen, the Lib Dems are saving the NHS, didn't you hear lol

sadly it is all about cost cutting at the moment

waiting lists are creeping up and soon we will be back to long, long waiting for non life-threatening conditions, no matter how much pain you are in Sad

i know one physio dept that used to offer 6 sessions of treatment to patients now offers one appointment. If you are really needy they will offer a 2nd appointment but that is the max you will get. You are then discharged and not allowed to be re-referred for the same complaint for 12 months.

welcome to the new NHS Sad

Yes we don't do politics as people have very strong view's on the subjects, sorry Mike it was just a general moan about an observastion, so I will instead have another moan about the bloody motorway. I like a good old moan Laughing

Had a letter and as it is the school holidays they say traffic flow will be down (do all kids go to school on a motorway ) any way the result is that they are now working 24 hours 7 days a week for 6 weeks, the racket at 2.15 this morning even had the dog barking as it sounded like someone was banging on our walls. that is surely something they can't expect you to put up with??

maybe you should get in touch with a solicitor and get them to use the human rights act to get some dosh lol

joking aside, that does sound awful Sad

When you complain to them a nice man comes to your house or sends you a letter explaining what machinery they are using that makes the noise and why it has to be used............ doesn't help us sleep though and doesn't stop it so today whilst I am stuck in bed I am going to contact the environmental health, John has to go to work and its awful that he has been woken up several times overnight. If a nieghbour was playing loud music all night for 6 weeks they would be in trouble so I think environmental health is now the way to go with this, we get several letters a week saying how many people have complained about noise from the company doing the repairs but all they say is that it is necessary and they will try to minimise it as much as possible.
