Window Hinge Leak! Empty Window Hinge Leak!

    Post by splats576 Thu 08 May 2014, 10:22 pm

Hello - we've just bought our Designer and discovered damp around the back window. We think its water collecting around the back window hinge. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on sealants we should replace? We're very new to Dandy's (and in fact, our first trailer tent!) so basic advice appreciated!  Shocked
    thanks!

Hi - it's the plastic kitchen window. And with all the rain yesterday, it was collecting around the hinge and sealing into the body if the dandy. The dandy is up at the moment and on flat hard standing.
All this info is 2nd hand - I'm going over this morning, so will take some photos and can maybe describe in more detail.

    splats

There are a limited number of people with the plastic windows so limited number who can offer advice.
My first thought is that if there's only this window that is leaking why is the other one on the same side not?
Fortunately you have two windows on that side as wind blowing the rain makes conditions on opposite sides unsuitable for comparison.
I'dl look and compare how the window seats or seals then the top hinge area at first. Obviously nicer to do on a dry day so a hose or watering can may help.
No real ideas beyond that till you come back with more.

Sorry the OP did indeed say Designer. I'm a bit fatigued at the moment. I can see the OP has only made two posts too but somewhere I've crossed this thread with a picture of a late 90's Destiny. Normally I'd at least link in the other thread to show what I got confused by. I can't be arsed.

Sorry to Splats576 for a less than helpful post.
