Hi, this is our Dandy that we recently aquired. It is believed to be around 30 years old. Can anyone confirm this and if it is a particular model?

We've been away in it twice so far and loving it!

    Ben.

Looking at the picture we would guess it is a 5 berth. The sizes would help people to confirm this. If you are lucky you might be able to find a number on the A frame which will give you the year it was made.

There are other people on here who will be able to give you far more details.

Hello and Our Dandy - a few questions... 1217042266 I would agree, it looks like a Dandy 5, and I would say it's either from the very late 70's or early 80's, as Mr and Mrs P (Phoenix) say there may well be a number on the A frame.

It looks a tidy unit, do you have any more pics? Does it have an awning? Our Dandy - a few questions... 1066248140

You Dandy looks like a late 70's early 80's, it has internal wheels I would say it's a 5

Thanks for the welcome's and info everyone Very Happy

We haven't taken many pics yet, but here's one of the front (the awning is nothing special)... may have a couple more, will try and dig them out!

I've found some numbers on the A frame ... 1399 then immediately underneath it's hard to read but looks like 960613700 (bit of doubt on 2 or 3 of the middle digits).

That awning looks interesting, do you think it's made using the original frame? The trailer and cover colour matches your car. cheers

What are the cover elastics at the back, by the door, hooked to? I can't quite make it out.

I don't think the year is 1399, that makes it quite old. lol!

The awning is just a home-made one. Looks more like a forensic tent with having no windows! But the whole front rolls up so it's not too bad Very Happy

The elastic at the back is one piece and it hooks onto a screw underneath the trailer.

Yeah, i'm not sure about the number. It's possible that it isn't the original A frame. I can probably find out.

The awning does look good, a very handy space, I did smile at your likeness to a forensic tent. lol!
It is possible that the number is well hidden under a lot of paint, I've not found our 60's one at all yet.

How did you put pics on, I thought there was a 7 day wait for new members, did you use another host, like Photobucket or dropbox or similar? (I'm sure I did that when I first joined) Our Dandy - a few questions... 2829330259

That is exactly the awning shape i was thinking about for my six as a porch awning,i have a old frame tent to make the frame from and am thinking of getting a price for pvc

There seems to be a lot of different sets of numbers around where you attach the trailer. Found one ending '80' which fits in with people's estimates of late 70's / early 80's Wink
