Re: Compulsory?
Mine was always just called Dandy but then the majority had names and I felt we'd neglected ours by not giving it one but to be honest we still call it The Dandy

Re: Compulsory?
If you look at most older Dandies, on the back near door, they have a man dressed in the character of a 'Dandy' gentleman, named due to the way they were dressed.
This is why i think that they have to be a male, and why we called our 1st Dandy, which was a 6, Brummel, after Beau Brummel, another Dandy of his day.
Maybe, I am just dotty as a dingbat, but ours will always he hims not hers.

Re: Compulsory?
Naming them makes them part of the family.
PS. Do you mean these ones?

Re: Compulsory?
Ours is definitely female, though I couldn't say why and yes of course you have to give him/her a name to make them feel loved.

compulsory, name.
well when mine is eventually finished it will be called the pikey pit.
because at 4 in the morning when we crawl out of it, we will look just like pikeys.
