The street lighting is being changed from the lovely atmospheric orange lights to bright white lights ....... we don't need a light on in the lounge at nights anymore because the new ones are superbright Shocked We have had several power outages though and another this morning which is really annoying as we have to reset the alarms and my broadband doesn't work when there's no electricity so I have to use the dongle, I had just typed out to post when the electricity went off so I lost what it was I had typed and my laptop battery is now running low and I can't plug it in to charge it. Rolling Eyes

On the bright side though I suppose we get to save on the leccy bill Laughing

The joys of motoring Caz ..... hope your pocket recovers very soon Rolling Eyes

The electricity was off from 7.15am came on for around 5 minutes at noon and then was off again until nearly midnight then went off again early hours. Only 32 houses are affected a transformer had given up, we we're told they no longer maintain them like they used to but wait until they go ..... we we're also told that if you want to complain you can do (second time this has happened in a month) but if you need compensation for anything (freezers again) get onto your house insurance because we've already been to court and we don't have to pay compensation out!

After last time I had to replace the stuff in the two freezers that we have and we've lost the majority of it again, will any of us claim ...... no because our premiums will go up. silent Having to use the dongle, home phones don't work so it's mobiles and laptop battery has to be charged at Laura's house. Evil or Very Mad Temporary repairs keep being done but it aint working.

Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad ok I'm calm now .. it all happened yesterday there I am ..minding my own business doing a bit of wood work.. making myself a sewing box in my front room when it suddenly went dark so as you do looked out of the window to see a scaffolding lorry pull up confused just watched for a while as I hadn't ordered any Suspect wrong address that's the normal thing No they then started to throw the stuff off some hit my front door :evil:then they started to erect the scafold around my front door affraid so thinking that they have got the wrong address went outside and asked what they were doing "for number 2 " oh that's next door and as for as I knew they were not in HA oh yes he was well Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad the sniveling @#@& came out groveling " oh we tried to tell you but we didn't see you " Evil or Very Mad my reply " see this red wooden plank just knock and I will open it " I started to scale so I turned around and walked in as I know I would say something that I will regret ..so I have scaffolding covering my front door as they are going to have their chimney fixed so tomorrow I will take photo's before and after as I know the builder and god help us !!! I will wait until I see them next time they come down and explain the use of good manners as well as a few other things I know I can be awkward and tell them to remove the scaffold from my front door and still in half a mind to do that Grunts - Groans - Moans - Page 19 344726530 yep they are the ones that chopped my trees down and pleased to report that my poor cherry tree is coming back to life Grunts - Groans - Moans - Page 19 2170595768

In regards to the compensation Helen, I seem to remember something like "If the electric is off for more than "blankety blank" hours, then we will pay compo". I think it's something ridiculous like 48 hrs. By which time, you could have sat a degree in electrics and fixed the bloody thing yourself! Smile

Probably just that the older I get more emotional I become.

Olympic closing ceremony Ray Davies singing Waterloo Sunset.

What would it have cost to get Dave up there as well.

I know he's been ill but did check he is still playing.

About 12 years ago I saw both Ray's and Dave's show in close succession.

About 60 times more people at Ray's show but Dave's show was proper rock and roll.

Alas most of you wont know what I'm on about, but a terrible sadness.

Evil or Very Mad what's wrong with these people that make tablet's more the worming tablets for cats more like for horses Evil or Very Mad
1) pointless crushing them to put in food as the cat's knows and won't eat for day's
2) grabbing said cat by scruff of neck try to shove tablet down the throat without getting fingers pierced by sharp teeth
3) wrapping cat in towel place between knees on the floor gently sit on cat to secure it from running off until it shreds towel and inner thighs
4) holding cat on chest ( this move should only be done with 50 layers of jumpers on ) slowly release hold on cat it will grab on with claws while you have hands free to place tablet down the throat as the cat will not let go or have claws left to get you with..
this is my usual and favorite way of worming cats except for the worm eating DOT! Twisted Evil love her bless her she ran up and bit me on the chin and wouldn't let go for a while ha keep your worms then!!!

A while since I wormed cats.
Is there a problem with the stuff you drip on the back of the neck?
Despaired of tablets, didn't fancy cat hung from flea collar (yes I know there elasticated) stuff on back of neck seemed the only way.

Going through that patch again, only had one days work this week, dont mind if its 3 or 4 but 1 is not enough, topped it up with two days holiday but the trouble with that is we are using the holidays we would have used for a week in September. Sad
Apart from possibly a short notice weekend locally think Christmas will be our next week away, pretty sure of that week as they have a shutdown over Christmas.
