Movelite XL on Dandy Designer

When we had the Designer we tried a Movelite XL awning as an alternative to the Dandy PVC one. It had the advantage of being fast to put up (and even quicker to take down). You just throw the straps over the top and peg down on the ground behind. It looks quite big on the Designer but seemed to work quite well.

Would the beading on the attaching edge fit under the Dandy roof and be tied on the inside? We tie ours with a bungee and tie it onto the bed legs.

Your awning looks good, I especially like the fact that there were no extra fittings or alterations Any ideas on a small porch type awning for the Dandy Designer which is easy to fit and put up without any DIY work ? I want a little area to put the wet shoes, coats and store the fridge and I am all but useless on a sewing machine which is why we have curtains at an angle in the front room

It looks like a decent size. I wont need an awning rail will I?

No rail, the beading bit should fit under the roof and when the roof is pulled tight it will help stop it from sliding out. Tying in on the inside using the eyelets already fitted will keep it there.

I have bought a movelite XL awning after reading this post.  I have it on my discovery and I am really pleased with it.  It was a little awkward to put up for the first but once up it is up it is ideal and has plenty of room for four persons to sit out in comfort.  No alterations needed and lightweight too!

Happy Days ...... I think they look good too and next time it will be so much easier to set up now you've done it once  

I have a movelight midi awning used once because i couldn't put it up on my own, must be doing something wrong.
If anyone has any tips for putting it up on my own i would be grateful.
When i put it up my mate helped me, loads of room inside about 3metre x 2.5 metres plus tunnel.
May sell it, but reluctant to as its a great awning. Pete

Yes, anything that fits a designer fits a discovery (except a one legged table). Most drive away campervan awnings will fit   

This is my midi awning that i have only used once, fitted to my old discovery which i no longer have.
I will be putting it up for sale soon as i cannot put it up on my own (arthritis in my knees).

I paid £209 for it 2years ago and its been stored ever since. (the midi is about 3mtrs square)
The poles are a bit scratched where i attempted to put it up.
Looking for £110 if anyone's interested. Pete
