Re: Hello and help!
Cross now! I contacted the seller through preloved (and paid £5 to upgrade my membership so I could contact before 10 days were up???) and was being very impatient as she didn't answer.
I checked my account which said I hadn't sent any messages - so sent another (still nothing) - I am becoming a bit of a stalker at this point so followed the links on here as she is a member and pm'd her from this forum - and immediately got a response from her as she hadn't had anything from me through Preloved - aarrgghhh!!!
Oh well, she knows I'm interested now just need to arrange a visit

Re: Hello and help!
Hooray we have a Dandy!!!
I think that now means we have more questions than before though.
The cover is pretty battered and no longer watertight so can we create something to replace it, or is there an inexpensive way to do it properly?
Also, what do people generally do for fridges, toilets and lighting? Now we have seen it, we can't decide what would be the best way to do these.
I'm sure as we attempt to put it up and practice, I will have lots more questions but they are the first ones that have come up

Re: Hello and help!
Brilliant news
We use a Porta loo, we had a discussion regarding the merits of them a while back.

Re: Hello and help!
You can see in this thread where my loo goes
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
and when we don't have the awning with us we use this
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And for lights, we like the gas lanterns as they give off heat too but there are lots of better options when camping with little ones so we also have wind up LED lanterns plus a few battery operated ones too.

Re: Hello and help!
Ha haa, I love the term en-suite, I'm definitely using that when we go away with our friends in posh caravans!!!! That's a really simple idea with the curtain though, I will try that
Thank you

They're all going to be so impressed with the space you have in your Dandy and its far easier to tow than a caravan

Re: Hello and help!
on your new purchase, I can feel your excitement.
We also use a porta loo and a three way fridge. Our green cover has over 35 holes in it, so we lay the roof in such a way underneath to keep the wood dry.

Re: Hello and help!
You could always use a tarp under the cover that'll double up as a ground sheet, or contact Mick
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Mike had a new cover made local to him and had it made deeper so he could put stuff on top of the Dandy and cover it all over with his extra deep cover

We have picked it up thanks, but we have realised that the folder with all the info in, including step by step instructions, was folded up inside it!
We may be shouting for help when we try and put it up though!!!! Thank you
Thanks everyone else for all the congratulations, we are really excited. The boys have helped us name her Rosie and our first adventure is booked for February
