Towing a Destiny Empty Towing a Destiny

Post by manchestercamper Sat 09 Mar 2013, 3:34 pm

I have just bought a dandy destiny. It the one that carl was selling.
We had a 4/5 and a 6. Both of these we towed with a skoda fabia 1.4 tdi.
It towed easily and we could see over the unit to see what was behind us.
The destiny is a lot higher it is also heavier but the skoda did tow it OK.
What do people tow there destinys with and can they they see over the unit.

Dont know your cars details but it sounds ok to me as far as power is concerned, after all i tow a 6 with a 1200 punto,so long as you are within its limits and use towing mirrors i dont see a problem.

I know the car statd are OK I Can tow 1000kg braked.

I am mainly interested in cars which allow you to see over a destiny.

I am also interested in what fuel consumption people get from towing a destiny.

Wife and I towed a 4/5 round europe last year 5000+ miles we ave 47 miles per gallion.

    Snap Very Happy

Towed it from Derby to South Wales a week ago and it was certainly a different experience not being able to see over the unit or see cars overtaking from behind.

    I drive a C-Max 1.6 petrol.

I didn't see a great difference in fuel consumption over the Designer I had previously, but I was being a lot more careful to stick to speed limits.

Have since invested in some towing mirrors so next time I won't have to wait for a bend to the right before overtaking any slower moving vehicles Smile
