We visited Ty Coch back in april as we wanted somewhere handy for Cardiff. The site is just at the edge of Cardiff only a few miles off the M4 and a park and ride. The site is a small certificated C&CCsite, while not far from Cardiff it feels in the middle of the country. It is only a short distance from the Severn Estuary and I think you can walk from the site, we went in the car about 3 miles and the views were spectacular. The site is quite basic, the only hot water was in the showers, no heating in the facilities, however it was all quite clean. There is a kitchen area for tent campers which was a nice touch While it all feels slightly chaotic, there was a mix up over our booking, the atmosphere is very friendly and helpful, we were offered the use of an EHU extension depending on how near the plug we wanted to be. Plenty to do in the area, St Fagans Museum well worth a trip and free.
Not a site for those who want top notch facilities but a very pleasant spot if you want easy access to Cardiff or an overnight stop.
