This was the first time we had been to Somerset so we were looking forward to our short stay. When we eventually arrived at the site (don't you love sat nav) staff at reception were friendly if a little curt and directed us to Field 5 as we had our dog as always, and told us to pitch where we wanted to other than the disabled spots which tend to be reserved.

The pitches are all level but are very exposed with no shelter other than each others vans, tents or trailers, field 5 is pet friendly and is one of 11 touring and static fields about the complex. Hook up points are plentiful and shared between just 2 neighbouring pithces, water points are a little more scattered about but still plenty for the field. Toilet and shower blocks were probably amongst the nicest we've ever used although they do cost 50p for 8 minutes so make sure your quick.

There is a well stocked shop on site as well as a takeaway, adjacent to the site is the main entertainment complex where food is also served, we ate there on 3 nights rather than cook in the dandy and found the food to be quite nice and reasonably priced with honest portions.

Also on site there is childrens entertainment, a little kids soft play area and a childrens farm, for the keen fishereman there are several fishing lake on the park and a tackle shop just outside on the main road, on Wednesdays a local market is held right next to the site, as well as car boots etc further up in Brean itself.

Brean sands beach can be accessed from just outside the park and is about a 5 minute walk and what a great beach it is too. Locally Burnham on Sea is a nice little town about 10 minute drive or alternatively Weston Super Mare about 15 minutes away.
