After a visit a week or so ago I'm pleased to say the site is looking good, the facilities are still outdated but the camping field is well maintained.

The eggs at the site are a little expensive but the best we've tasted, this is a working farm so you will experience some farm activity from time to time and some tractor noise but the recompense is the outstanding views surrounding the site. Access to the site is good and the hot water and showers are free, the site can become a bit noisy at weekends if it's a bank holiday. The farm is also an equestrian centre so expect to see lots of horses in the adjoining fields, also cows, sheep, chickens and now they have two pigs. The chickens roam the site Very Happy

Weekends do get very busy on the camping field and can be noisy, during the week we love it here.

Its only really bank holidays that you have to book for way ahead. The farm has cows, sheep and chickens but mostly you will see the horses. They breed them, show them and have a livery stables too. the fields that back onto the Caravan and Camping fields are for the horses so it is lovely to look out and see them munching away.
There were two mares with foals in the upper fields away from the campsite but you can see them in the distance and you are able to walk over to take a better look. Very Happy

The Chickens do wander around your unit when its not so busy, the eggs they produce are great and the farm sells them.

It doe's seem to be getting busier, lots of rally's take place now in the field adjacent to the camping field and as a result the facilities are far too busy as there are too many people for the amount of loo's and showers on the site. They also don't stay clean for long even though they are cleaned daily, just too many people and not enough facilities. Crying or Very sad

When we first started camping here it was lovely and could still be if they put some money back into it and I don't mean by adding more electric pitches but by adding more toilets and showers. It did used to be cheaper than other places too but the prices have risen faster than the other sites in the area and they are now charging the same if there are two of you and quite a bit more if you have kids with you as you are charged per person. It works out okay if you camp alone though. Neutral
