Hi, I bought a Discovery off ebay last week and we pick it up this Sunday. Do we put grease on the towball of the car? Just the towball?
Thanks

When I was young over 50 years ago my father always said not to because it will let the hitch turn easily and not damp out snaking like a dry ball can. The alko stabilisers have friction pads to clamp on the the ball to stop snaking.
However, with a discovery you just will not get any snaking at all.
It won't do any harm to put a bit on other than getting it all over your trousers when the ball isn't covered.
If you do subsequently tow something with an alko stabiliser hitch head, you must clean the grease off or you will damage the friction pads.

Maxholz If you are new to all this Dandying stuff take one extra lesson from this. If someone offers to help you erect the Dandy do get them to lift the kitchen end wall and fasten the roof lines on that side too. It's much better that they rake their shins on the coupling rather than you.
