How have you improved your dandy Empty fridge fitting

Post by John on Mon 12 Sep 2011, 6:54 pm

this is something that I will have to think about, the height means i will have to set it down through the floor for transit ,and a false piece put back on site, it's a good job Pat does not go to this site, she would not be amused Wink

We put a longer water pipe on and the waste water one too as the waste doesn't always fit under the Dandy on some sites and the pipe wouldn't reach, will also be good when we have raised it. Very Happy

Redone all the soft furnishings and curtains. Replaced carpet with floor tiles & repainted the legs. Still to do - some work on the electrics putting in a proper socket and replacing the 2 boards on the seating side for 1 as it should be, welding the one corner (those we may have to enlist professional help to do).
Really pleased with what we have done so far Minnie looks so much better than when we bought her, but is still definitely a 'work in progress'.

How have you improved your dandy Empty fridge fitting

Post by John on Mon 12 Sep 2011, 8:50 pm

Just done some quick measurements, and now think it will not work as the fridge would protrude below the trailer by 3to 4 inches, plus I think I would get ear ache off her indoors, stick it in the boot instead

Have you ceased to be a hooker?
What's the idea with the rollers for the hoops?

Kevin.

Erm, we've -

*put new tyres on,
*repaced the roof ropes,
*bought some green bungee storm straps
*and chucked a reject swinging chair cover over the original cover to help stop the rain getting in the 40 holes. Shocked

Future plans -

*Buy a new cover.
*Treat the trailer wood.

All in all nothing exciting or original. Very Happy

Have you thought about trying to put a free moving tube over the top width of the hoop bars to act as a roller because I think it may work but wouldn't have a clue how to get it on there How have you improved your dandy 2829330259

I have been thinking about rollers also, I think the hoops are 20mm.
Thought about getting plastic waste pipe which i think is 22mm cutting a slot down the length, opening it up to go over hoop, then clamping it together and using tape down length to hold it back together.
Dont know if it would work but seems feasible. Pete.

I've been considering it for a while but over winter we are going to get the sides zipped out of the awning. Should make it a lot easier to erect and I can then sell the Suncanopy on as it will be surplus to requirements. Very Happy

You could sell it on, or you could adapt the ends so the sun canopy fitted on to the end of the awning to provide an area to sit or barbecue under during our wonderful summers.

Coming soon questions on sun canopies and weather after the wind got up at 01.30 on Thursday night and collapsed my awning being used as a sun canopy.

Oh Dear Kevin ....... in windy weather I add a guy rope from the centre of the front of the canopy straight down and put a storm peg in to stop it lifting ....... as it has lifted once and we got a bit of a bent pole.

Hope you got away without any damage.

Weve added an extra work top to the side of the draining board, this makes a big difference..
Made a Roof Liner.
Cleaned the PVC with Cif
In the process of making new curtains
In the process of making an extra shelf under the extra work top

Very Happy
