Re: More aldi bargains
The 60 LED strip lantern is brilliant in all senses of the term.
Loads of light, light output lasts longer than stated on the instructions.
The price of one of these may appear to have stayed the same while LED prices have fallen, but this light has now been modified. Instead of having a rechargeable "pack" it now takes 3 AA rechargeable batteries, so the light becomes much more flexible if further rechargeable batteries are purchased.
Had the pre battery version of this for a few years. Top camping, motoring and DIY tool can't recommend enough.
The cordless combination kit I am in two minds about.
Great price and as 18v appliances should have enough omph to be useful.
I have watched the introduction of cordless grinders though and now we have a cut price one.
Great just in time for a prolonged recession and increased thieving. No padlock or chain now safe.
The largest chain I have for my M/C is 12.5mm thick it is so heavy I only use it at home even that is not sufficient now.
I know a thief is a thief and it's not the tools that make them so but I still have mixed feelings about this.

Re: More aldi bargains
We used to have them all around our bungalow at Christmas and the only problem is that they tap on the windows if its windy so we haven't put that type up for a couple of years but as Evie is here now we may do again because they were really very pretty.

The Aldi 12 LED light. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Is not particularly wonderfully bright as an LED light. I'd much prefer their LED inspection light.
Where it does score is that it can be turned right down. So for kids requiring a nightlight or adults wanting to avoid stubbed toes when nipping out to the awning to use the Porta Poti it could be ideal.

Re: More aldi bargains
It's a plug that diagnoses possible wiring faults.
Do you remember being told you should have a hookup plug wired the wrong way round in case of reversed Live and Neutral?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
For £2.99 this will diagnose that and other wiring faults.
A 90% plus chance you will never need it in this country. Come to that as a venomous fight on a well known UK site finding forum rages over, other things have to be wrong to hurt you.
Despite often knowing what I should do I'm one of the idlest people you will ever meet!
So often don't do the things that I know I should but this is cheap and quick. It also makes diagnoses idiot proof. (No I know from experience nothing is idiot proof)
I'll have one of these: It's £2.99. It makes diagnoses a piece of ...... If you accept one thing wrong with a system that is meant to have redundancy within it's design then it's the next thing that may well kill you.

Re: More aldi bargains
Just to confuse things here and include a Lidl offer.
Sorry can you remember which one is which? The only difference I know is Aldi is more helpful with problems and returns, or it gives its managers more autonomy.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I've been thinking about a tome on battery charging. I've tended to thinking that a "Dumb" battery charger is what is required for a battery if connected to an EHU and a 12V demand.
An intelligent charger being better for off camper (winter) conditioning. Higher amp intelligent chargers are now available but I don't know if the chargers become confused by the loads on the battery?
I have not chased this subject but will do so.
For £15.00 this is ideal though when you are laying your battery up between jaunts. Get an extra year out of the battery and save the cost of the charger.

Deep 56cm self inflating air bed.
Not for the Dandy as such but for a guest in the awning or a guest at home at Christmas.

Looks good value for money.
We got an Optimate a similar device a few years ago, but it cost a lot more.

I have one just like this which I use all the time when on EHU. The only slight problem is that it sometimes reverts to standby when the lights are switched on, it doesn't seem to like the initial spike, having said that it doesn't happen every time and once reset it is quite happy. The water pump doesn't bother it just the 8w fluorescent lights. I've had it for quite a few years now and the only problem has been that the switch wore out, only about £1 from Maplin but getting past the anti tamper screws was another story
