    Towbars and Mot test Empty Towbars and Mot test

    I guess that we all check our towbar and electrics as we use them quite regularly, which is just as well because the towbar and associated electrics are now to be included in the mot test.

    Couple of links for interested parties;

    Towbar section

    Towbar electrics here

    Only the 13 pin euro socket is tested for function (even though an adapter is supplied with the test kit so it could be used to do the 7 pin, so what's the betting that will come some time in the future)
    You do not have to have electrics fitted.

    Thanks Keith,

    Laura had a problem with the electrics to the tow bar, it was making the right noise in the car but not indicating on the trailer, as she wasn't using her Dandy over winter we have only just found out because she moved mine for me last week. Her MOT is due in March so we will get it sorted now rather than wait until she is ready to camp again.
