If one of the lorries goes in the week it wont matter as he'll just crane it onto the back
Matt i have no idea as to the answer ime just raising the question,to crane it i presume you would use straps is the dandy of a design that would have the strength to allow for straps.

I can't find the picture but somewhere I have a photo of our Dandy 6 being craned on to the Scillonian III when my parents took it to the Isles of Scilly! In short the design of the space frame IS strong enough for lifting with straps.
If I find the photo I'll make sure I post it.

Re: My Dandys / My VW T25 Projects
an 80's match for your camper, lucky that.
We found we did last year.
but it is nice not to pack everything up to go any where. And the Dandy is much better in the wind compared to the campers awning, but the campervan does feel a bit left out.
Perhaps we should get her an 80's brown also, well it will match her brown Westy interior better.

Matt, vinyl is a better solution its easy to keep clean and you can just put a carpet over mat in like what we have, its attached to floor using poppers.
Our last dandy had carpet but prefer current set up.

Thats what ill do then...our Pennine Fiesta had laminate
Im looking into sinking the propex heater into a 3mm steel box in the floor so its not in a cupboard, reduced noise & easy access
My campers heater is also mounted in a box sunk though the floor just infront of the passenger rear wheel

That sounds like a good idea because cupboard space can be tight.

It reduces noise! Let me think who do we know who thinks that Propex heaters are noisy?
Oh you are making jobs for other people.

Re: My Dandys / My VW T25 Projects
Hi Matt, the measurement is 1480mm, this is from the inside of the tyre to the inside of the other tyre (the gap in between) if you need the measurement from outside to outside just say, I can measure each of my Dandy wheels as they are the same as Laura's x it by two and add that to the measurement.

Re: My Dandys / My VW T25 Projects
Your welcome, sorry it took so long ...... the most stupid thing is I have just had my dad measure ours (just out of curiosity) and it's 1490, the designer and the discovery are the same size units just a different interior, the difference is probably to do with the fact that our tyres need a little air in them. I never even thought of measuring ours Doh! my dad also measured his - again curiosity as we were then wondering if they are all the same size even with external wheels and found it is a shorter wheelbase than ours.

Re: My Dandys / My VW T25 Projects
Havnt had time to get the Dandy erected in the workshop yet
Had a quick look inside & noticed the front panels window has smashed...I put this down to how it was packed away Plant Glazing can take a template & make a copy in toughened glass
Also with not having gas struts the upright supports have gone through the plywood on the bed base in the past and water has effected it a little as the board has warped
I knew it would be a project but its an ideal start & i like a challenge
After seeing pheonix's build thread i wanted to re-clad mine.
Might go down the ply route or have some alloy checker plate lazer cut to the original patterns painted black then block flatted to bring the alloy back through on the high points and laquered...I get a bit carried away sometimes
I also thought about going all VW on it and sticker bombing the whole thing

As your obviously practical and have a host of work based contacts not a disaster but oh the joy of buying sight unseen from eBay.
