Quest supercool 45 EPG Empty Quest supercool 45 EPG

    Post by chris1429 Sun 18 Mar 2012, 7:08 pm

    Hi everyone,

I have just bought a second hand a Quest supercool 45 EPG fridge, but there are no instructions with it. I was wondering if any one had a copy that they could photocoy and send to me by post or email, I will cover any cost involved.

I am not sure how to attach the gas pipe as it looks like you use a screw on thread.

    Many Thanks

    Chris

Just looked these up on line. The illustrations I've seen make them look very like the Electrolux / Dometic fridge freezer. I could scan the copy of mine but from comments it sounds like you have quite clever digital controls, which is not the same at all.
It wont help with the instructions but can you photograph the gas end and we may be able to give advice from that.

Hi have tried to upload pics but I dont think I have been successful. My fridge does not have a digital control just the normal ignition and temp controls. Its just I have never come across a screw fitting to take the gas pipe, I thought they always pushed on.

I think we still have one of those in the garage Nick, I bet it's the same type of fitting. Will have to have a rummage and see if I can get a picture of how the gas hose fits.

I think there is every chance Nick has the right company for you to look at be it for their range of screw on fitments if not the pigtails he has shown.
As said the pictures of the Quest look just like the Electrolux, Dometic and Waeco. They all probably come from the same factory in China.
If you have used one of these you'll know the score if not my one piece of advice is Get It Level use a spirit level and check the spirit level as most are wrong.
Here's the instructions for an Electrolux see if these are any use.

Thanks for all your help. The fridge is very similar to the electrolux but its not the end that fits to the gas bottle as the dandy has the screw fitting, it's the fact that there is a screw fitting on the fridge thats thrown me. Mike if you can send your e-mail address I can send you pictures. I have discovered that the fridge came from go outdoors so I think I will pop in and see if they can help.

    Many thanks

Back to the site that Nick took you to but [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Will one of these connectors not screw onto the threaded bit? N.B. Use PTFE tape.

the link i suggested has a screw on coupling one end for an appliance such as cooker/fridge and another screw on coupling on the other end for a gas bottle

p.s good find Kevin i think one of those little screw on adapters would be the cheapest solution
