finchale (pronounced finkle) abbey is a 13th century ruin right on the river wear about 4 miles from Durham city centre
the site is adults only and has standard 10amp hard standing pitches and super serviced pitches with 16amp ehu and water from £20 per night dogs welcome,
the toilets and showers were lovely and clean with large shower cubicles and free showers
a wash up area and lovely woodland walks along the river through cocken wood
peacocks and doves and hens walk freely round site the cockrel is very forward!lol
the site is is a stunning location (see nicks thread for pics)

they have a website and take debit cards the site has a small shop/cafe and is only 1.5 miles from arniston centre which has sainsburys halfords mands all the usual out of town shopping etc handy if you need to stock up
all in all a nice peaceful relaxing site and we will definitely stay there again and only 12 miles from home for us too so 20 mins to get there result!
