Re: 3D gaming ??
I have few games on my PS3 that can be played in 2D or Stereoscopic 3D,i found it weird to start with i thought it would be more involving but i guess i am so used to playing in 2D.
I would recommend PS3 as its also a world class Blu Ray player so ideal for 3D movies,i have recently uploaded about 100 cd's onto the PS3 as well so now i have a good library of music that i can play out via the home stereo system.
There are also many fans of XBox who will swear it has better playability and more game choice,i believe it costs to do online gaming with XBox but its free with PS3.
Not sure if XBOX supports 3d also it has no blu ray function so 3d movies are a no go on it.

No Mike it is true 3D,it took me a while to figure out that with PS3 games that have the 3D option the user has to go into game set up option to Select the 3D version.
Then the TV recognises the 3D signal and displays it accordingly.I have tried playing non 3D games using the TV 2D to 3D converter and it was not convincing as no real depth.
I only have GT5 and Batman Arkham Asylum that can be played in True 3D

Mike,
You need to get Modern Warefare's on the PS3
Online is good but as you say you use mobile internet or we could have a Dandy forum "team deathmatch"
