I brought bikes for my son and myself last year well put it this way I have brought a bike (cycle) for my son every year trying to teach him to ride and they have just sat there.. so as i said I brought one each last year with the thought that if i rode a bike that would encourage him to ride??? my son now 5' 10 at 13yrs old but nope he has no interest what so ever so now left with my bike its stood in the way in my hallway that long the inner tube was perished good old Aldi they doing tyre tubes so just got them and fixed the bike AND excuse me while I have a rant ....who?? designs bikes nowadays certainly not us women as now instead of subtle slipping of the leg through then sitting on the seat no you have cock your leg over AND what's with the seat yet again thanks to Aldi i have got a decent saddle seat not the pencil the old seat looks like and no its not a man's bike its pink ok that means nothing but they said it was a woman's bike so the fun begins as can't put this off any longer I will have a go tomorrow but not telling any one saves the crowd appearing mind you i might win an Oscar for my performance but with my track record best put the emergency services on high alert and better tell my sister as she can patch any cuts and bruises but hoping nothing will happen ( not a hope in hell) I will ride my bike along the wildlife trail and back then never walk again as my legs will be knackered just like to say I haven't ridden a bike for over 30yrs but WHY YOU DOING IT i hear you ask why not ? something to do .I know act my age not my shoe size but hey a new chapter or not we will see today now as its passed midnight and all good ideas are hatched then regretted in the morning

I echo this, wish I had the time now to get back on my bike as its a great way of keeping fit.

Re: new adventure or not
Im back didn't get to ride the bike but did try we ( my sister and I ) walked the bike to a flat spot away from the river and prying eyes ok took 5 mins discussing what would be the easiest way to get on.. so decided with the left foot on the pedal and hop off and just simply raise rt leg over the back , sit and cycle HA! yea right allot of hopping and more hopping as I realised the leg was not cooperating and more hopping ...My sister being so very helpful not! her back to me in tears ok that plan didn't work so after ten min breather as there was allot of hopping and then decided the next plan ok tilt bike leg over sit on saddle bring pedal up and push off ok in position WHAM! now my sister is crossed legged sitting on the floor doubled over and now I'm unable to speak as I had the left pedal up and foot on it to push down on the pedal then rammed my rt shin with the other pedal .my shin now numb and bleeding my sister squeaked something in her hysterics "what do you mean am I in the right gear im not driving the bloody car" I shouted at my sister .... well I didn't know I had 18 gears oh hell this is getting more technical than I thought so no didn't ride my bike limped home ,, got to get the manual out and learn this gear stuff but I hatched a plan for my next trip find a hill sit on the bike and away I will go as hills are not hard to find here but need one with no cars on it but thats another day...as I wrap my wounds put my feet up and plan my next shot at riding my bike AND my sister is banned as she was no help at all and as for my son not riding his bike he has no coordination (cant spell it) dyspractsic can't do shoe laces, knots I thourght he was being lazy but apparently not bless him
when my sister and I were kids we had to share stabilisers between us so I only went left and she went right
