just complying with the new cookie law Essie, the forum hosts have assured us that they have already taken steps and that any member joining has already agreed to cookies the sites use but it's better to make sure that visitors know about cookies too

I agree with the requirement that users should know about cookies. In the past, sites have 'planted' cookies even if you accidently stopped there and most folk didn't know about them.

We are going to put something prominent on too, this site only stores cookies if you start to browse it's contents

This is typical government cock up,i for one want most cookies they enhance my surfing what i dont want are the sales orientated ones that loads of sale sites have,we shouldnt have any of them as we dont sell any thing.

I think we've found a neater solution, we have been assured by the forum hosts that they are looking into this law and will take any necessary action to protect the forums they host as they are not a UK company it may not be necessary to do anything ...... until then we have taken our own steps.
