sorry to say it is a big learning curve unfortunately you have to put up the poles and get them in position I have colour coded my poles to the position they are connected to the dandy i.e left= blue / middle = red / right =yellow so all the poles to their positions will have those colours on it then the front ones are brown ( the only colour I have got left) some people lower the poles down put the awning on then push the poles up into position but I put poles up and run around huffing and puffing with my broom sliding it on

there is no easy way to start with Crying or Very sad

Our awning poles were colour coded when we got it, but they are fairly self explanatory.

    Navver's link should help.
Putting ours up can still get and be a heated operation. lol!
Once you get the poles sorted, another trick is to keep the front low down while you put the awning over the frame work.

Helen made a great suggestion which helps me a lot. When the awning is on and guyed, fold it to the first guy point while still guyed. release the next 2 guys and fold to there, then the last guy and fold to there.

When you next put it up, put the awning over the front stub poles and peg the front guys, then unfold to the next guy point and peg them and so on. Stops it all falling all over the place and holds it together if there is any wind.

Never thought of that and never seen that done.

I'd always put awning work in a wind down as a group exercise.

I have dropped my own in a degree of wind as I added zip off sides.

This is an example of Mr Itchs awning folding skills as witnessed by ourselves at Utopia this year. He did mutter something about wind as an excuse then.
