Dandy Lights Wiring Empty Dandy Lights Wiring

Post by matsouth Sat 25 Apr 2015, 7:18 pm

    Hi guys

I have a Dandy Dart trailer tent. I am changing the rear light clusters and just need to clarify which of the wires is for the stop light and which is for the tail lights? Both wires serve 1 bulb (with two filaments) though my new clusters have independent bulbs.
So there's a red wires and a green wires as shown in the attached photo.

    Thanks
    Mat

That looks like you have blue and red to the twin filament and green to the single. According to the caravan club guide the colours are

    Pre 1979
    TERMINAL COLOUR 12N SOCKET
    1 Yellow L H Indicator
    2 Blue Interior Lights etc
    3 White Return (Earth)
    4 Green R H Indicator
    5 Brown R H Tail Light
    6 Red Stop Lights
    7 Black L H Tail Light & Number Plate

    After 1979
TERMINAL COLOUR 12N SOCKET 12S SOCKET
    1 Yellow L H Indicator
    2 Blue Fog Light(s)
    3 White Return (Earth)
    4 Green R H Indicator
    5 Brown R H Tail Light
    6 Red Stop Lights
    7 Black L H Tail Light & Number

Wiring of the 12s grey plug changed in 1998 but the 12n black plug remained the same.

Looking at this your colours don't seem to be to the standard. You could check the pin numbers in the plug to see which colour and match the cable colours. Or if you can plug it into the car you could use a test lamp or multimeter to check.

Sorry I cant be more help.
