    as a complete novice to doing any kind of renovation to my dandy but needing to sort some things out, can you tell me what type of rivet gun and rivets will be best to get?

    also what kind of grease gun?

    i know this sounds really stupid but i'm an idiot really Embarassed

    all advice really really welcome

    I have just bought one of these,you would need this type for the stronger rivits or stainless steel,the problem with these is you dont always have room to use them.

    These are the normal sort but its down to strentgh in your hand i feel you need both types.

    As you are doing maintenance not a rebuild a pack like this may help

    Thanks for that link, I think we might be needing a box of them, lol. We bought a normal rivet gun with a twisting head, ideal for weird angles, but you need hydraulic hands on bigger rivets, I couldn't do the larger ones, I had to call for OH to help.

    There is a firm local to us that sell rivets individually. Try looking in the yellow pages under fixings and fasteners, there might be one local to yourselves.

    As far a the grease gun Eilis, for the amount you would need it you would be better to ask a friendly local garage or mechanic to grease it for you.
