New Dandy owners
Hello! We just bought a Dandy 6 on ebay and we're off to pick it up tomorrow. We're new to trailer tents and this was a bit of an impulse buy, but I'm looking forward to camping OFF the ground. Daresay I'll have some questions coming up

Re: New Dandy owners
Thank you helen, that's very kind. Do you have a rough idea of how much fabric I'd need to make new curtains & seat covers? I probably won't bother to recover the main mattress, but I'd like to do all the others.

Re: New Dandy owners
I did my designer with 10mts but only did tie backs to match the seating and then made a contrasting curtain I even had some left over for cushions too. Take a look at this thread by clicking the red writing although it shows the front of the cushions the reverse of every one of them is the same blue as the seating and I also have another set of cushions with a contrasting front and curtains to match. By just doing the tie backs I get to change the look of our Dandy by just making curtains and cushions, I made buttons in a matching fabric so when I change the look I can tie it in by using these.
The 6 does have more curtains than ours and I also didn't cover the main mattress but if you are going to use a different fabric for the curtains and just make tie backs to match the seating you should be able to do it with around 10mts, alternatively you could cover the underside with a plain fabric.

Re: New Dandy owners
We made new curtains for our 6 but cant remember how much we used as we found the fabric we wanted in the guise of throws at a clearance shop, all i can remember is we bought two and only used one.
If i was you i would consider a fairly heavy fabric as the windows are large and this would hold the heat out in the summer and in for the colder months.
As for posting pictures the forum host not us has put a 7 day waiting period for new members but that should be up for you soon.

Re: New Dandy owners
I used a chenille for the seating and tie backs and a brocade upholstery fabric for the cushions and one set of my curtains the curtains in the pic are velvet and cushions brocade. Even if you go for a lightweight fabric for curtains and cushions ect I would say use a hard wearing fabric for the seats, we can even soft brush ours to keep them looking nice.
Have to say Jayne and Nigel did a fab job with their Dandy.

Thank you, a lot of it was down to you encouraging us and explaining how to do things. We'd never done anything like that before, and it was hard work (most of it done by Nigel), but in the end we were pleased with the result.
We had 10 metres of material for the covers and another 4 metres for curtains and had quite a bit left over.

Re: New Dandy owners
Well, there's brown and then there's TOO MUCH brown .. I'll post some pics when I can!
One more question: does anyone know the sizes of windows, door window and bed curtains? Sadly, our new Dandy just fits in our front garden when all folded up, but we have nowhere to put it up! I'd like to make my curtains and have them ready to put up.

Hopefully we will be erecting ours in the next two weeks to finish the insulation if you haven't got the sizes by then will let you know them,we are similar to you we can just erect ours in the garden with a struggle.
