Chassis Number
Where would I find the chassis number on my Dandy Destiny? I have been told it's on the A frame, and up until today, I thought I'd found it, but it turns out that I have been looking at the Hitch Plate lol. So where abouts on the A frame would it be, before I get on my hands and knees, and on my back on on my side, and curled up underneath the Dandy, trying to find it? I would mind all the above if it wasn't so blinkin cold and wet

Re: Chassis Number
After never finding the number on the Green Un I also lamented about finding it on the Designer.
Mike pointed it out at Christmas. On mine it's faint, if yours is likewise you need to look hard.
It's on the top of the offside portion of the A frame of the draw bar.
A section of it is hid under either the gas locker to the rear or the AL-KO hitch to the front.

its stamped into the a frame, that's what makes it difficult to find on the older ones as the numbers get full of paint, ime sure it will be there just hidden under paint.

I spoke to Ian at Riva, and he said mine would definately be on a plate on the A frame, just in front of the hitch. He said if I couldn't find it, there is a possibility it is under the body of the Dandy, as the Chassis and Chassis number were done elsewhewre, then the Dandy was built on top.
He said he could make another one, as he has the chassis number there, as the guy I bought it off was the origional owner, so managed to trace it. Not sure how much he would charge though.
I think the better option would be to use one of those pens, and put it in a few places.

We could not find one anywhere on Phoenix The chassis rails that were not replaced had been rubbed down to bare
metal prior to painting as well.

Re: Chassis Number
is it a legal requirement to have a chassis number ?
I take it the number would be required for insurance ?
going to have another look but dont fancy stripping all the paint off the unit even underneath just to find a number that may or may not be there.

Re: Chassis Number
We couldn't find ours at first, when we bought ours the lady had insured it with the CC so we just continued with that, she hadn't given them the chassis number and we couldn't find it.

Re: Chassis Number
Just been out to check where mine is on a six,if you stand with the tow hitch in front of you its on the left hand a frame piece and is about two inches away from the steel plate the towing hitch is bolted on,very faint even with no paint so it could easily be in that spot under the paint.

chassis number
I have cleaned off the paint over the number on my A frame prior to repainting it.
Hope this gives you an idea of where it can be found, certainly on the older models.
Mine appears to be a 1987 model with an S suffix. I presume this means special as it
has an over body load carrier.

Re: Chassis Number
cool - looks like mine has been erased from the frame where that would be - even wi my nitromors paint removing cant see.
looks like someone decided that going over the frame prior to paint with some sort of power tools in a previous life
