Death In The Afternoon Or Possibly 8am

Summer generally sees myself and friends attending Goodwoods Festival Of Speed.
This year the dates have been changed and it's now occurring on the second weekend of July.
One of my friends has been grinding us to attend the Festival Of San Fermin and this years calendar would allow us to do that.
I'm not saying I'm going to take an active part in the festival. I very much imagine that I won't unless lunacy overtakes.
Any of the younger and more athletic end (sic) of the Dandycampers interested?

While I'm quite used mentioning events that are of no interest to anyone I was slightly surprised on no comment on the above.
I can hardly believe it was too cryptic even those who would not have instantly known any of the key words have Google.
Death In The Afternoon came from Earnest Hemingway though Hemingway's earlier The Sun Also Rises more directly relates to San Fermin.

Now I'm not expecting a lot of interest in the festival itself but following this we will be attending The Goodwood Festival Of Speed.
The festival is later this year than normal. 11th to the 14th of July.
As always if your interested and will give up 2 hours per day I can sort free tickets.
The good news this year is that as far as camping goes you don't have to camp anywhere near me. I got an upgrade last year and got invited to camp with the competitors and exhibitors. We have a party of either 6 or 7 for this years show.
A pitch isn't too cheap at £160 non EHU £200 for EHU but the pitches are big enough for two units and two years ago 5 of us did the 5 days for just under £140 each. That included fuel and all food and drink except any individuals spend during the day. We returned with food and drink left over.
If your interested the pitches tend to sell out by the end of March. Give me a PM and I'll sort out details.

You did miss out on last year though (possibly Vicky as well or did she tire of men in uniform) as there were lots of hunky naval types as we raised £35,000 for the Fly Navy Heritage Trust.

We would to go to this event, but wouldn't be able to because of our kids (dogs). As they are both rescues we wouldn't even contemplate using kennels. They would think they had been abandoned again. Nannies and Grandads are too old to cope with them now.

Anyone going to The Scottish or Birmingham Caravan show? If you can try to pick up details of any discount codes from Brittany Ferries I'd be grateful. Looking at the cost of Ferry, Campsite and Fuel I was looking at £1,220 for 9 nights 3 return plane tickets left £899 as a contribution towards buses and accommodation. It would be a no brainer but 1 of my mates can't fly. (well none of us can be he can't travel in a plane as well.) We could just cross the channel and fly transfer drivers at 2hr intervals to Spain. Get hyper and stare down the bulls when we arrive.

If anyone has Spanish linguistic skills and knows why it seems so hard to find a map for regional trains? Or why the youth hostels won't give details of availability or price in the booking pop ups. Still with the youth hostels why they have a contact them option that then requires a Captcha code that it doesn't show?

Any tips to get to Spain on the cheap? I tried C&CC and the Caravan Club both would quote but the C&CC computer was down and they have never got back. My own try for a fare was cheaper than the Caravan Club and the CC insisted that Plymouth to Santander was a day and a half sail but Brittany Ferries list it as 20hr.
Even looked at buses and trains.
