How forums helped me Empty How forums helped me

    Post by arie5119 Sun 17 Mar 2013, 2:27 pm

Hi everyone I just want to pass on how not being afraid
to ask for help has paid off in spades for my caravan breakers
website. Before Christmas around the beginning of December
I decided it was time to start on my idea for breaking
caravans for spare parts to sell on the internet.

So I started building a website with weebly.com (it's free
even the hosting) after I had built around 30 pages I went
on to caravan and camping forums asking for members to take
a look at it and give me critical advice on how to make
it better from a users point of view.

The upshot being the site now after listening to the advice
and using it the site now comes up in a Google.com search at
number 19 and number 23 in Google UK, it also comes up at
1 through 10 on searches like caravan breakers Middlesbrough
    or Bailey caravan breakers etc.

So never be afraid to ask for help most people are only to
willing to offer advice as happened to me.

    Thanks arie. link removed

Good advice for anyone starting a business.

For us though this is just a forum where we can all chat, ask questions, offer advice and share our experiences. We are really pleased with it though, if your looking for a place to chat about Dandy's Google finds us fairly fast cheers

On the don't be afraid to ask for help note though ..... that's good advice for forum members too, questions are answered from people who have experience with Dandy's, Dandy Campers are very helpful How forums helped me 184121345

    Dear arie

Your desire to thank people seems boundless.
I think you may have been thanking the folk on UK Campsite as well. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Thing is this looks terribly like someone just trying to get free ads for their business.
You know what though arie if you had come to us and asked for a few lines of advert you could have had them for free. We even put them in a special place so they don't get lost under later topics. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I don't know if you can offer any services for Dandys in particular or trailer tents or folding campers in general. I don't know these things because you never told us. If you have the courtesy to at least be reading this forum and post some useful information on how you can help us or relevant services you offer we may still place an ad for you. If however you are to busy "thanking" other sites I believe there is a good chance that we will leave a little note saying you look a bit fly or failing that just delete your post.
As I suspect one or two other sites might.
Thank us and this is what you get in return.
    "Kin" ingrates aren't we.

Good advice on asking for help,if you wanted to advertise on our forum asking may have been the way to go with that also,we have a trade sales section and all trade members are allowed to run adds in there, although yours would not be fully dandy related there could be things you sell that are of interest, contact me if you would like an add in the correct section.

How forums helped me Empty Sorry if I have upset anyone.

    Post by arie5119 Mon 18 Mar 2013, 2:42 pm

Hi again please accept my apology if I have gone
about this in the wrong way, my site has not got
any Dandy related pages yet though I think once
we have a yard and some caravans to break we may
have some things that could be useful for any
    caravan or camping enthusiast.

The post is a genuine thank you and if anyone was
to take the time read the posts on other forums
they would see that each individual post is different
not just a quick copy and paste into each forum,
the reason being we did not want to offend anyone
so the time was worth it to us.

    Thanks and sorry again arie.
