this is 1200W so I don't know if that makes it unsuitable for camping but just found this today and wondered if anyone has seen or used them?

1200 watts means its draws 5 amps of current so would be fine on hook up just be aware that some sites are only 10 amp hook up so you dont want to overload for example if you had a 900w kettle 3.75 amps and a 1000w toaster 4.16amps all on at the same time you'd be pulling almost 13 amps so would trip out your hook up easy way to check
    use this formula
    I(amps)= P(power-watts)/ V(volts)

e.g.For a 2400 watt kettle plugged into a 240v mains, to work out the current.
    P=IV 2400 = 240I I = 2400/240 = 10A

That wouldn't be a problem but you would just have to watch what you had on with it i always offer a simple and easy way to calculate your limit.

Think of 5 amps as 1000w

hook ups come in 3 flavoures 6amp (rare now) 10 amp and 16 amp

This is on the under side of safe but easy.

    Dear All

Having seen the picture of the oven open is this basically just a halogen oven as below?

Just to confuse things re electricity supply. Though we generally get a 240v supply we legally get a 230v +/- 10%.

Tried to look what year it changed but couldn't find it but it was over 10 years ago.

    Kevin.

The george forman has top and bottom heat according to the add, whereas the halogen only top probably why we ditched ours,it had three options

    burnt
    dry
    uncooked

that fourth option "cooked" eluded us totally lol!

Did wonder if it was because we had a small one, maybe the larger ones work better.

One reason why we shouldn't try to get every last watt out of a hook up.
