The person who makes it, sells it. The person who buys it never uses it and the person who uses it doesn't know they are. What is it?

A farmer is in a field working when he sees two men approaching.
They ask him "Any Work" The farmer explains he is carrying men at this time of year.
However seeing their dejected faces as they turned to walk away he then said.
"I Never Like To Turn Bright Lads Away If You Can Solve My Riddle I'll Not Only Give You A Job I'll Make You Foremen"
My Farmhouse is surrounded by eight fields.
In each field I have 3 men working.
My house has a window on each wall.
From each window I can see 3 fields.
I want you to go to work in the fields but arrange things so I can still only see nine men out of each window.

Blast first you have to work out what this means and I'm incapable of generating graphics to illustrate.

So the house is at position 5 and the fields 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9

Does that explain?

everyone extra works in field no2 as there is no window on back of house and that only field not visible from any of the windows as there's one on each side of house and one out front????

Standard four sided house with a window on each wall.
Say one wall faces North, one East, one South and one West.
Say also the divides on the fields are North --- South and West ---- East.

If all else fails I'll draw it scan and post image.

They stand or sit under the window so they can't be seen?

No trick all the original workers plus the two extra in the fields.

are some of the workers women?

If I were those men looking for work then I would probably get a black tin of paint and put it over one window, the excess workers would then be put in the fields that can't be seen. I would have said brick a window up but as they are looking for labouring work on a farm they probably don't have the cash to spare and besides painting a window is the easier of the two.

Failing that I would wear camouflage along with my friend, or simply sit down in the field under the window and not do any work. I would perhaps go and do the milking in the cow shed out of sight ..... if I knew how to milk a cow.

sorry just read it again and I'm not allowed to milk the cows as I have to work in the fields.

Ah but can he see every fence from the windows or are they out of the line of vision because if not I would go and repair them. You always have fencing to repair on a farm. Or could I possibly paint a third of each window or just draw the curtain a little to hide men in one of the fields.

Kevin i get the feeling the answer is staring me in the face but dont give in too soon with the answer

Slice then two cuts across the top = 8

That was obviously way to easy.

I think I will stick to working out my campers MPG, whilst I buy fuel in litres and the speedo is in kilometres.
