Coast or Country? Empty Coast or Country?

Post by Keith Wed 15 Jun 2011, 12:28 am

Our holidays over the years have only ever been in the UK as we never fancied an overpriced week in a pigeonhole of a hotel room on the costa. We have had old campers Bedford Cf, Mk2 transits, trailer tents, caravans, tents and now a Dandy.

Our breaks and holidays have always been coastal, my wife loves dragging me round the shops as I never go proper shopping at home, we have never camped inland for some reason although that spell will soon be broken as we are off to Drayton Mnaor park with the grandkids soon.

So whats your choice the hustle and bustle of a seaside town or the peace and tranquility of a country site?

I Love the coast, there is something about being near the Sea that makes me feel like I am on holiday, perhaps its because thats how our holidays were as a child. I have camped inland and did enjoy it but not quite as much as the Coast. Its the sea side for me and all that brings back memories. sunny

fish and chips always taste better when by the seaside why is that,it must be something to do with the scent of sea affecting the taste buds.

Thats what makes the Sea side the place to be, the sights, the ocean breeze and the sounds (was going to say smells but it didnt sound so appealling) Shocked

i love buying smokies and shell fish from the seaside, although vicky normally gags when i start chomping through a pot of Whelks in Vinegar.I enjoyed staying inland when we stayed at Woodhall spa as the skies are really big if you know what i mean maybe because the land is so flat.

I live by the coast and over the years have come to realise that I need to be near water or I get a bit twitchy for some reason. If I live inland and it's too far away from water I start to feel land-locked which is really weird.

I can holiday inland but long term it has to be near water Smile
