This will be an adventure taking my Dandy on a foreign trip and following the cycling race starting in Belgium then north of France until the Alps we are going to put her and us through a pace so hopefully be well versed in putting her up and down and touring around hoping to go into as many contrys as we go Germany, Luxenbourg, Switzerland and Italy doing three weeks end of June to the end July . so now running around collecting stuff to live in lux with our Dandy Tour De France 2702329197 can't wait I joined the caravan club and the caravan and camping clubs as got great deal on ferry crossing only £ 78 return Dover to Dunkirk Tour De France 3517506835

Caz nice to see you back.
    Didn't realise piggys hibernated.
As your off touring I assume you sorted your spare wheel?
You joined both The Caravan Club and The Camping And Caravanning Club?
£78 ferry price for a good 3 weeks and towing a trailer about 4m. Spill the beans sounds like a cracking deal.
That sort of deal more than pays for membership and as I'm contemplating a short trip to Ireland full info would help.

ha ha not so much piggy's hibernate more like the mud frozen and can't move. I went on the ferry sites for the same tickets would cost £111. but as being member of the clubs I booked through the caravan club. with the caravan club their sites seem to be more exclusive and some private, as for the camping and caravan site are cheaper than the normal rates both cost about £40 to join I found that they are very helpful sites Im using them now to find sites overseas get allot of deals with them.

Unbelievable. I want to pop over to Ireland for a week in May. Not the bank holidays travelling mid week.
Not looking for a particular sailing time but the cheapest. I'm one metre shorter than a 6 but I'm looking at 3 adults travelling.
Just looked to confirm prices but P&O websites are playing up at the moment. However I don't think that will affect things much.
Cheapest price £352.00. Shove that either I'll choose the cheap train options and hire a car and book a B&B or as suggested elsewhere book two cheap cruises one UK Ireland one Ireland UK. So the nice people can't surcharge my credit card I will be booking them cash from a travel agent.

I know a bit off topic, but have you ever got a quote to the Isle of Man, ours was £600 for the campervan with out, yes with out, a trailer. Shocked it would be a lot cheaper to book at an event which includes camping and ferry, but that still isn't cheap. And they wonder why people choose to go elsewhere. Mad

How sweet. Thanks very much but the dates used were only dummy ones. Need a family confab before selecting real dates. Also found a source of discount codes for trailers or caravans to Ireland. £192 from Pembroke or £224 from Holyhead only thing is it ends on the 14th of Feb. I will list if I think it's continuing.
Should have posted this separately. It's not very Tour De France is it. I will start another thread if I have success with the discount codes.
    Thanks again Cazz.

    Caz

Don't know how often you do Europe but while the intention of the EU is notionally to harmonise laws it seams the requirements for motoring law have become more divisive. Especially what must or must not be carried in a car. Remember to take Hi Viz jackets for self and all passengers. Warning triangle, 2 triangles for Spain. To be kept in the car not the boot in certain countries. Load the latest version of your sat nav that doesn't warn of fixed speed camera or radar sites in France. Oh and if you get out to pay at a toll point put your seatbelt on before moving even 1 foot. Favourite lurking spot for French police.

Obviously just a bump for my [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] post which no one has seen fit to comment on (No emoticon for Huff) but have you pre booked all your sites as I imagine there is a massive number of spectators following the tour. Or are campsites just so numerous in France that it is not an issue?

    Great stuff Caz.
If I'm picky sheet 3 should follow sheet 5 and sheet 4 is the same as sheet 6.
Sod it you can still make sense out of it and that's all that matters.
You best bring back loads of photos.
Better still have you got a euro roaming dongle and you can make us jealous while you travel.
