The ultra-low running costs of the Pure-EV i-MiEV are a key advantage over other cars, with additional incentives including ‘fuelling’ for as little as £1.73 per full charge. If you are using the Economy7 tariff then the cost for 12,000 miles could be as little as £223. The i-MiEV is also exempt from road tax, is free from the London Congestion Charge and is entitled to free parking in some London Boroughs and cities such as Milton Keynes

    The new Mitsubishi electric car

I know the initial costs and the battery replacement costs but will we get there for most motoring needs

What % people have an economy 7 tariff ?
If the entire country had electric cars charging at night would economy 7 still exist? Mind you non economy 7 would only be twice as expensive.
    The range is ?
The batteries last how long? The batteries cost WHAT? The relative environmental cost of the components in the battery is what?
If you just do a limited mileage isn't the most environmentally friendly thing to do just make your present car last longer?
Parking is free in certain London boroughs at the moment. See how Westminster ran roughshod over the law to introduce M/C parking charges.
Wait until people start to burn to death in these. There was was a fire at the TTXGP at Silverstone last year. It's a race for electric motorcycles. They used 16 fire extinguishers to try to put out the fire from a single motorcycle. In the end they had to walk away from it. Lithium ion battery fires are not easy to put out.

would tow a Dandy with ease electric cars have massive instant torque more than diesels. The poor range would mean you would probably only get about 30miles out of a charge when towing, still handy if your local campstite has EHU cos then you can at least get home Very Happy
