Hi all, I got some of the small rust marks off Desmond Designer today, using little exfoliating wipes.
I figured if they are ok on skin, they shouldn't harm Desmond.lol
Remember when we had the blue and white 'dart' who was called 'blue' O/H packed the spare wheel against the white PVC, ooohhhhh I cursed him. Evil or Very Mad

I used some silky caravan and boat cleaner on the cover to see if it would clean easily and this is the result it says its non abrasive no scratch cleaning cream, has anyone else used it?

It's the first thing I used to clean my Dandy when we purchased it ....... my dad had some in his garage from his caravan days. It worked a treat but was more expensive than the cif but we do still use it on the tub to get any marks off and it works on tough stains on the pvc too with no scratching .......... it's also not as messy as the cif. Very Happy

There is a phone number on the tub so i phoned and asked if silky was a solvent cleaner.
I explained what i wanted to use it for, and i was told it wasnt a solvent cleaner just test it on a small area first.

Sorry for the late reply but no not a solvent cleaner and for cleaning the dandy tub (where you get marks from the bungees) it's better than the solvents. I like the stuff, it brought up our old dandy cover and gave it a lovely sheen too. It brought the paintwork on the tub up lovely and it was very very shiny when finished Cleaning our Dandy again. - Page 2 184121345

    Hi all.
We have marks on the trailer part of Desmond, that just do not seem to shift, whatever I use.
It is almost as though the marks are underneath the surface. Sad

Most Dandy's will have some sort of marks that won't shift no matter what you do, I have some on my awning roof that have had everything thrown at them and they still wont go away as they seem to have stained the pvc ........ call it character rather than worry about them lol!

When I first got the Dandy, earlier this year, the cover was fitted inside out and I understood why when I looked at the "proper" outside. Cleaning our Dandy again. - Page 2 9639063 The half clean front picture looks bad but the top was/is worse but I thought it was sad to have the rear Dandy logo on the inside and so I decided to give it a go. I've now done half of it and used almost a whole bottle of jif, only two bottles left, we might have to buy some soon affraid (the first in over 20 years) lol!

When it is not in use I do have an extra cover (brown Cleaning our Dandy again. - Page 2 2829330259 ) to protect the blue one cheers

Our old cover was the same but it also had a large hole on the top from some rodent nibbling, we managed for a few years by patching it up and giving it a good clean but in the end changed covers. The Dandy on the rear is slotted into a clear plastic sleeve so I took a blade and cut that out then put it on the new cover with tenacious tape and slid the Dandy word back in before putting on the last bit of tape. It helps when packing as we know exactly which bit of the cover goes to the back Very Happy
