    Hello All

Been a bit thin. I was away for the weekend before last had a great time away but the right hand side of my face exploded in skin lesions on my return. Not spots nor boils but lumps that bled.
Jumped onto the site on Sunday felt a bit more like posting didn't realise that I was still logged on.
Woke up Monday feeling industrially ragged. My digestive system is shot but I've not had any real problems or pain in years. Oh dear between pain and deep discomfort for all of Monday and Tuesday. Feeling somewhat better now but well knackered.
Didn't want to be a stranger but probably only lightweight posts. It's exhausting to think.

Hello is this your return for the 3014 camping year?

Like many I look forward to more tales of dog walking and family mayhem.

So good to see you back.

A reply to an email you have sent or no general word for this year?

I hadn't looked at my email for over a week but have just found a message from Kate. No idea why she would not have sent you notification other than at one point she was sending my eMails to the wrong address.
I've forwarded Kates eMail to you and tribalkev in case he was missed out as well. I'd reply as soon as you are certain that you want to go.
Unless things are different this year (and some things are different every year) the FOS is far more packed than the Revival I'd be aiming to arrive by Tuesday if possible, from Wed it's a Lot more crowded. More competitors and support in smaller camping area.
Are you interested in catering from Malcombe over the weekend? Fri, Sat some of Sunday probably. I'll get more details if interested.
I'll see if I can contact the other Dandy owner as well.

Bring your walking boots it's a humongous hike to cover all the area.

For anyone else reading this wondering what we're talking about.

For years I'd said if anyone was interesested in going to either the FOS or the Revival at Goodwood then for a couple of hours work each day I could sort tickets.
Though somewhat presumptive of me as it is someone else who provides the tickets I figured that the person concerned always needed reliable volunteers.
So for ages I've been mentioning this as a great free show and not getting any interest.
It just so happened that after getting bumped up to free camping also then last year we had tribalkev and Caz Numbers interested. tribalkev dossed down in my Dandy and Caz turned up for the Revival where there is always loads of space. Except there wasn't last year.

If this is the sort of thing that floats your boat great please send me a PM. I'll have a word with Kate and see what is possible but I would want you to presume that you need to pay for your own camping which is about the £200.00 for the pitch [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] but this could do up to 2 Dandys and up to 5 people. (or more with a fiddle factor) I'm a bit more circumspect about saying I can sort this or that because I realise what is on offer if camping were offered for 2 or 3 people would be a £500.00 to £600.00 package and I don't wish to see someone's hospitality abused who has been very good to me.

I was going to post this up for Caz Numbers as an example of what to expect in Yorkshire (Though it's a dreadful put on accent) but had a look at the site it's connected to.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

So lets see it's a campsite that provides toilets but no showers nor elsan disposal points. If you have flush toilets how hard is it to provide an Elsan point? So I'm guessing chemical loos. Wunderbar. I have memories of Pickering Steam Fair's chemical loos. It stops me sleeping at nights.

The pitch is 5m by 9m Goodwoods are 9m by 7m.
It's camping is for 3 nights Goodwoods 4 or 5 dependant on event.
Facilities toilets and cold water only. Goodwood toilets and showers cleaned several times daily. Hot water and sinks for pot washing.
Security ?????? Goodwood Quite pleasant but not to be messed with.
Reason for camping: Being close to 1 day of a free show that exists for a few hours. Goodwood To attend a 3 or 4 day show with entertainment from  08.00 to 18.00.
Cost £45 per person. it's nice that it is per person but it it fills up I bet any single occupancy pitches get their fees returned. It works out to £180.00 for four people Goodwood £160.00 for the pitch.

I've always had the hump that when I've gone to Goodwood I'm charged twice. Once to attend (though I've never paid for that and once as a supplement to camp because it's such a pain to get to.
This campsite really does just seem like a chance to milk people. I hope it has all the success of the pubs that were wanting £100.00 plus for the new years eve 1999/2000.

Though the facilities are non existent i.e. the same as the site above Pickering Steam Fair allows camping from Tues to Mon and entrance for a family of 4 for the showThurs, Fri, Sat Sun for £90.00 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
