I am getting withdrawal. I need to go camping in my Dandy and I can't get time off for the Christmas meet. What aboout a week somewhere in Feb or March 2012. Help please!!!!!

I think someone else has also suggested that we have a meet in Feb/March, I would love to.

Cant understand people who are desperate to go camping in there dandy's i will have to say it depends on where as we will have no holidays left by then but could probably get a permission granted day to make a 3 day weekend.

We are up for a meet early next year, any ideas where to go?.

I would like to suggest the Lakeside Adults only site at Bielby near York. Please take a look through the website which can be accessed through UK Campsite. Don't forget your bicycles and fishing rods!!!

Looks like a nice location and you can see the lake from the pitches too.

Looks nice and in our own camping we always try to use adult only sites but we must be careful with meets not to exclude any one who would like to come to an open meet with children,unless of course you put an adults only meet forward as some thing you would like set up then you are free to do that,in the same way as parents can put forward a family with children meet idea.
We have only been running the forum 6 months and are still working on trying to get things right for everyone and different types of meet looks likely to be the answer,if for no other reason than members having the opportunity to have a meet at a site they like.

We would be interested adults only or not,so long as they allow a childlike 63 year old who refuses to grow up.

Totally agree with Mike, all different types of meet are welcome and if you would like to start a new thread with the heading of Lakeside Meet stating adults only then all who wish to attend can add names. If anyone with children would also like to put forward a site perhaps at a different time then they could also start a new thread with the meet location stating children welcome and we can add names to that too. It isn't about excluding anyone but about members being able to have the type of meets they wish. Just please make it clear the type of meet it is so no one puts their name on the list only to be disappointed.

Looking at the pricing I suppose the Camping And Caravan Club definition of a Dandy as a trailer tent will be the one used!

I'm sorry I hadn't thought about the ankle biters. April and Me have been to Lakeside once and it was a lovely site. I only suggested it because of that. I have two grown children myself and a grandchild who I can't wait to introduce to camping. If anyone else has somewhere in mind please let us have details.

My children have grown too and I have a granddaughter who will be camping with us soon, why don't we wait and see who is interested and if any with children are then we can look for another site but up to now it appears only people without children have shown an interest.

No need to be sorry Terry as a member you can suggest any type of dandy meet you like and i feel sure there will be some members who prefer adult only sites,i have some friends with children who will only use sites that dont allow dogs,variety is the spice of life.

We would also be interested in a meet in Feb/March, work and car shows permitting.

I would be happy to organise the meet if people get back to me with ideas for sites etc. I am a relative novice at all this but willing to learn. If you have an idea as to where we should go please let me know and I will collate all the info. I really am suffering from withdrawal now.

it's just a case of suggesting a site and see if people are interested really, if you know a good site put a link on so we can have a look

Can we sort out dates for Lakeside, we would like to go Terry, sometime in March would be better for us.

Pretty sad of me to be sat here on Christmas Eve replying to your enquiries about Lakeside. I have fired off an email to the site asking for pitches overlooking the lake if possible. There are several fields on the site, some of which do not actually overlook the lake. When I have a response from the Site Manager I will look at dates in March if that is suitable for those interested. If you have any dates in Mind please let me know and I will accommodate if we get a consensus. You would not believe how many times I have typed this message. I really will have to stop drinking Grouse!!!

That's great Terry, will look at a calendar and get back to you but any weekend in March would do.
