Minimum packing list for camping in a Dandy

I know all of us on here say we always say we take far too much away with us but thats cos we have been camping and dandying a long time so if you are new to dandying i thought i would compile a list of the bare top ten essentials (this is what we started of with)

1.coolbox food and ice packs
2.torch/lantern/lighting
3.kettle frying pan and sharp knife
4.camping chairs
5.clothes(dont laugh i know someone on here who forgot all theirs once) toiletries towels bedding tea towels
6.2 plates 2 bowls 2 knives forks and spoons 2 cups 2 plastic glasses (obviously if theres more of you you need more )
7.BBQ (we just started with the cheap disposable ones)
8. dustpan and brush and cleaning wipes
9.radio
10. hook up lead/gas bottles

i'm sure if i compiled a list of what we take now it would be about 20 times longer

Things we pack in the dandy
plates/cups/cutlery/
pans
electric kettle
3 x led battery lights
2 extra tables
cloths airing wrack
convector heater for inside the dandy
fan heater for the awning
table fan for those hot days
bbq and charcoal
electric oven
slow cooker in the winter
black waste water container
two fresh water containers
bread bin
chopping board
electric wasp swatter
extension leads
tool kit
electric drill
hand brush and shovel
door curtain to keep flies out
water filter jug
camping shoes (these are camping use only)
spare blue tarps
shower matt
hook up leads
tv Ariel
awning pegs and mallet
spare guy ropes

just pleased we thinned it out

Things we pack on top of the dandy for transit.
awning and frame
breathable ground sheet
2 x relaxing chairs
trailer spare wheel (in a plastic bag)
windbreaks
2 x self inflating air beds

Things we pack in the car

2 x sleeping bags
5 x pillows
1 x duvet
1 x sheet
1 x fleece liner
1 x clothes bag
2 x laptops
small bag with starter food in
1 x bag of towel's
coats
1 x bag with shoes and slippers in
1 x three way fridge with milk/butter/bacon/eggs ect in
1 x large plastic box with tea bags/sugar/smarties/shaver/toilet rolls/kitchen rolls/and odd bits

Reading Festival 1981. Friend borrowed tent for us. He didn't check it I didn't.

Only inner tent no fly sheet.

Luckily it didn't rain too much.

Thought of something forgotten when with female company.

Arrived at the campsite sometime after midnight.

May have stopped of a hostelry en route.

Set up tent I'm insistent that I could murder a cup of tea....... No Matches.

Consider the wisdom of waking a neighbour up, no perhaps not. (see I have a sensitive side)

Ah I know. Flip the back of the Beetle up take the gas light earth it to the body, pull out the central lead to the distributor.

"Right Love when I say go turn the ignition on for about 5 seconds. If I scream, shout, swear or something goes bang feel free to

switch off at that point".

Turn on gas light shout for ignition, within 1/2 a second shout OK. Light the stove off the gaslight.

Ten minutes later enjoying a brew.

Now let me think what happened to the former girlfriend!

Right i now have a better understanding of why you are single can i suggest a slightly different approach for next time.

A find a campsite near a nice pub that does meals
b go there during the day and set the tent up
c get every thing ready including a bottle of champagne in a chiller bag with a nice basket of strawberries
d treat the lady to a nice meal then a slow walk to the site enjoying the evening air
e show the lady into the tent open the champagne and offer her a drink and strawberries
c well if i have to give any more instructions its just been too long

That would tax my organisational abilities, and Rohipnol is quite cheap.

Asked recently in a recent street survey what my favourite grooming aids were.

They seemed puzzled by the answer "Facebook and Haribo".

box of useful things (guy ropes, pegs, tenacious tape, spare regulator that sort of stuff)
Fairy lights (solar powered)
Comfy reclining camping chairs
Wellies, shoes, flip flops
1 small case of more clothes and pot towels
More lights (just in case)
Spare bottles for my gas lanterns.
Batteries
extension leads
lump hammer and rubber mallet
My things (book, glasses, medicines,toiletries and the hubbys too)
We always take a few fire-logs with us too

Oh and the awning, see nearly forgot it and I have probably forgotten other stuff too

Oh no I forgot the dog and his stuff, ball, brush, chicken bowls and food

Looking at your list has made me remember about 8 things ,but as they are on your list i will not bother

I cant believe you get all that in,I will have to rethink my packing its full and with only half those things in.

Forget the stuff I said in the PM. On reflection I would uprate the suspension.

Have you enquired about changing the hitch as well so you can go up to 1 Tonne?

No seriously have you ever measured the change in height from empty to fully loaded.

And / or weighed the unit fully loaded?

No Kevin, but we do carry the awning in the car and that is a fair weight taken off. I think the other stuff probably only weighs the same as the awning and frame. I promise though I will be good and take some stuff out of it

I know vicki, I have remembered other stuff too but cant say because Kevin will shout at me

Not all of the stuff goes in the Dandy, some is in the roofbox and lots in the car too. We have already stopped taking the swing ball, boules and lots of other stuff but when you write a list like this it makes you realise that you could get away with not taking some stuff
