Its the first time I've seen one of these and they look like they are good fun to have a play with. I do like novel ideas like this. I've got a couple of the 'beer can stoves'. They're the same and they work. I can't imagine when I'd get round to using one in real life but it doesn't stop me wanting to make and use them, as a project, to see what they can do. Another project I've considered trying is the 'Hay Box' cooker. In some ways a more practical device as it saves money on fuel and is one that I'd use at home, even if I didn't take it away with us. The problem comes in finding space for all these bits and pieces. I'm absolutely certain that we take too much gear with us as it is.

I think the older kids who come camping with us sometimes will really enjoy helping make one of these .... with adult supervision of course

Keeps your nuts rust free as well

I have a tub of vaseline into which I put all my screws, makes putting them in and out easier, but never thought of setting it alight.
