Re: dog walking
I did it after the hounds did there Houdini act on Sun I rushed to B&Q and got galvanised steel fencing ( cheep version) as it is not a cost that I expected ok after 3hrs fight to unroll the thing hair pulling face scratching I nearly gave up but NO must continue dived to the cupboard under the stairs I know its here somewhere I bought it years ago from Aldi ahh ha found it THE STAPLE & NAIL GUN big piece of kit two handed job , loaded it up ready to go with staples stood outside and eyes shut pressed the trigger 4 sparrows 2 pigeons 1 crow later no ! nothing not a bang not a whizz is it broken looked at the nozzle looked for more buttons to push , shook it , hit it, changed battery , nothing ? 2 cups of teas later and allot of thought found hammer if all else fails ok as no instructions I put the fence to the post and pushed the gun to the wood BANG it works wow it has a Caz safety feature why did they not tell me 3000 staples later fence up not brilliant but it will do for now have got 7 posts to erect and must get more fencing to bridge the gap and make it look pretty but for now has put them off until they spot the gap

Don't Don't Don't ever borrow a Hilti Gun.
The next door neighbours son was re-decking a 7 1/2 tonne van for his father years ago.
He managed to nail his foot to the floor.
Screamed himself stupid (didn't have far to go) and no one heard him. It was pre mobile phones!
Generally known as baby Jesus after then.

Re: dog walking
We're fitting new internal doors at the moment, it's hilarious to watch. My dads thumb is still heavily bandaged from his accident, my brothers hand is in plaster and John can't stretch because he has had a growth removed from his chest and has 6 stitches. Any one of them could have done it but they only make one good un between them. It's taking longer than it would have and costing me far more in coffee and bacon buttys
The thing we're not looking forward to is painting them all as you can guarantee the dog will brush against them while they're wet and give us a very funky furry finish.

Ours is the same, and he also puts his feet on the wall - then leaves footprints on the floor. They so know what they're doing.

Black, it's always the same when we paint ..... he brushes past and ends up with paint all over himself. I don't fancy black doors so I think I'll change the dog to a white one

Re: dog walking
Let me tell you why I have been gone for a few days so sit down with a good cuppa and switch off the phone as this will take some time
THURS was the day appointments made long time ago Dentist! I dutifully got up after 4 hrs sleep yep chasing spiders the night before not looking forward to this visit as I Hate Dentists and all they stand for..anyway as I have learnt that my body does not co-operate.. I now know that my left hand and right don't agree.. now my legs have a mind of their own .there I am trying to think of any viable excuse to not attend "berry-berry disease! plague!, " but before I knew where I was .. I am standing at reception gibbering away then they come in their white coats wrong story why do they say " would you like to come with me" "NO i would not" is my reply any way X-Rays done and the results are back no time to think not that that's done me any good massive hands on the shoulders then the clamps on the arms and knee on the chest do you think they are giving me a subtle hint yea try and open my mouth then OH cake the next thing I know is i'm ushered out with a letter of do's and dont's after an extraction now feeling sorry for myself and my gob shut tight with cotton wool trapped in there I go and have my eyebrows done...can't work out that today is not a good day and who was the prat that thought inflicting pain not once but twice in one day would be OK oh that would be ME now feeling week at the knees and in great need to lay done and have copious love attention lavished on me but NO make my own tea and sit down.. dogs in full attending mode.. leads in mouths that will be a no! feeling guilty and sucking tea through a straw and thanking my lucky stars I got home before the rain JUST! when a knock on the door My neighbour asking me to move my car I'M ill !! but dutifully agreed as I park in front of his garage.. so tea down half wellies on.. I trudge down In monsoon rain ... where the hell am I Amazon? torrent of water hitting the side of my car and the gentle stream to the left side of my car a raging river so waded in cursing that I hadn't put my full wellies on not that it would have helped anyway in the car and tried to get her out of the predicament we were in but no she only slid backwards so foot to the throttle wheels spinning then she caught flying up the lane ops not to far as the rest of the lane was chewed up by more raging water coming down the lane were I walk the dogs so that's out... the dog walking that is not after the last time still having nightmares anyway getting back is the problem I have to pass the raging water running off the Llama field ok plan is being hatched , up the bank to the fence ..shimmy along to the gate.. climb across the gate then off the other side yep no probs ..so up the bank shimmy the fence just half way across the fence I heard the thundering of feet Llamas forgot about them so I shut my eyes waiting for the pain to hit ( from a bite) or smell ( when they spit) but I swear just as I was shutting my eye's I saw a Guardian angel stomping off throwing his halo to the floor hope it wasn't mine .. then I felt very wet cheeks and shoulders awe bless them think the Llamas thought I was rescuing them having problems my self eventually peeling the Llamas off me and jumped down the other side and saw my neighbour trying to climb a ladder and looking into his garden .. oh my god his whole garden was under 3ft of water.. we struggled to get his gate open to let the water out which nearly took our feet away ...from the time I moved the car his house got flooded, as we released the water from the garden which stoped more of it pouring into his house.. I then phoned the fire brigade as 6" water through out the house but no! 6 fire pumps turned up to assists everyone else by the time they got to us I had scooped all the water out of their house single handed as bless them were in shock and were moving things from left to right not knowing what to do so sad to see the devastation
there was one young man with brains and thank god for him well I didn't think, well I should now my guardian is not coming back unless he has better working arrangements ie.. I don't leave the house so back to this young man he popped his head around as im bailing and switched the electric off at the mains we could have been frazzled IF only I had brains 4hrs later loads of family and friends turned up to help my neighbours so I sloped off to have the well deserved lay down.. I was ILL got up the next morning looking like I had four rounds with Mohamed Ali damm I looked good but back to normal now

Re: dog walking
ok I have finally done it we or should i say I have enrolled us into a Dog training course it was hard to find someone that haven't heard of the kayos that we have caused but found an innocent group I have explained our problems so she will take us on one at a time Toby ( my avatar) is first with me next tue's as it is in the catholic church hall think there will be allot of praying going on.. but if they start chanting I will worry the end game is that Toby will be trained in gun-dog things , Jack will do agility and service dog and old Sam just to stay as he is with less Llama/cow chasing, but sorry to say we will be boring highly trained group

Re: dog walking
well we went to the training last night ! now what can I say only that I didn't let the side down apart from the fact I left the house late which didn't make the 1/2hr walk there a leisurely one more of a forced march in the dark ( did I tell you I can't see in the dark) trying to dodge people shopping spotting them at the last minute .. Toby totally confused and trying to keep up also taking him out of his comfort zone got to where we were supposed to be walking in from the dark to bright lights and wet feet also a door threshold slightly raised all the odds were against me and yep you have guessed it I went flying SPLAT looked like a dead bug on the windscreen and Toby barking at all watching on now have a problem apparently I have torn my crucial ligament and can not use my legs to get up again yep forgot the strap thing as I was late so now on my knees shuffled um more the knee walking across the floor to the chairs I was proud that I didn't show myself up by singing " Hi Ho Hi Ho of to work I go " although the urge was great..back on my feet the on lookers didn't know weather to laugh or cry .. my dog didn't let me down either well I was shocked he barked his head off at a puppy and snapped at the trainers dog well he lunged at him lots of times but she explained he was scared and stressed out phew thought I had a demon dog in the making as he has never done that before yep my heart sunk I will admit but the trainer reassured me bless her and against all the odds we are allowed back tomorrow and every Thursday but we have been put in with the big boy's German shepherds Toby is sent to play with the big boy's note to self : 1- remember the strap thingy, 2- torch as the journey back was like the blind leading the blind . 3- leave early and calmly get there in one piece

Re: dog walking
many years ago as a child i fell over when running down the road and my mouth got all cut up etc
since then i've been phobic about stuff happening to teeth and now my two front teeth are crumbling cos of that fall all those years ago
i sympathise hugely with your situation, i'm terrified that one day big chunks will start falling off my front teeth
