Here's a slightly unusual but honest ebay listing.

Not sure what you mean by honest though it states you might need to be at a stage in life where you don't have to make a living. I think it's a perfect example of an eBay ad that is never meant to sell through eBay.

So what are you buying: The trading title. The stock. The current lease. Being in central London I severely doubt that you are buying the title, stock and freehold for £300,000.

Nice dream though. Not sure that in certain areas a real vinyl and CD store that also trades over the internet is impossible. There used to be two good ones I knew of, one in South Shields and one in Newcastle. Don't buy as much as I used to hope they both still trade.

I see the store does CD's as well. All the best to whoever buys.

Yes I reckon the listing is just to get interest and publicity and it appears to have succeeded. I'm sure any eventual sale will be arranged well outside of ebay.

Amongst the charity and pound shops that have taken over Newport city centre we still have a wonderful independent vinyl and CD record store - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Between the shop and the mail order business they seem to survive okay.

There's a gem of a documentary about an independent record shop in Teeside - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I've only see the TV edit, which pops up from time to time on BBC4, I must watch the full length version sometime.

I dread to think what the ebay fees will be for that if it did sell.
