and now know why putting her up being such a struggle noticed that she has only one gas strut on each side the previous owners must have removed the others have got two weeks to get her ship shape but with the weather as it is RAINING 
all internal work being done hoping for a break in the weather so outside can have a good scrub up

went through her with a fine tooth comb and now know the workings technical and for glamping (future projects ) 
Dezdemona is a beast in comparison and after taking in all the info on this forum found that oh my god 
after doing investigating 
CSI Dandy recon the gas struts failed and that the side was forced shut 
in turn that had twisted the hinge My friend 
long suffering Tony riveted the other side with me yelling "I'm pushing , watch were your sticking that thing " tourist walking passed they can't see me but poor Tony standing with his rivet gun then there is the dip in the floor 
looked underneath all ok 
unless I rip the laminate floor up but no time for that not in a place if under floor heating would be 
were the bed on the left hand side is wear and tear from getting up ??? electric's sorted Tony did it 
trying to pin , tack and glue all the bits back together.. Kitchen putting back together the right way needs a very good scrub as she looks very grubby roof etc 
but she will do well and I promised her when I come back she will have a big make over 
as she has another big trip next year to Spain or Italy would it be a good time to say that I DON'T DO BOATS i'm sweating now so will take my crocheting along to distract me put it this way the last time I was on the ferry and was told stop panicking we are safe no sooner that was said the tannoy announced "can we have a minutes silence as the Pen-lee lifeboat has just sunk" 
I rest my case!!see whittling now so will go now before I put you all to sleep 
still not packed yet .. 5ft pile to my left ( my clothes) to fit into a rucksack it ain't going to work so back to thinning out 
finished upholstering and new curtains then forgot about the bed sides the bar across so I will do that when we come back , and hats off to those who can quilt by sewing machine as I found out that I can't ! I quilt by hand but being in a rush did one by machine because just had a thought to make a travel blanket I will buy a tea towel (picture one) from every place I go to cut the pictures out and sew them onto my quilt I used to do that years ago but had people write on a peace of material in their language then embroider over the writing to keep it permanent and embroider the flag of the country on it. phoned the kennels just to check the time to take the dogs down on tues ( the day before) but to my horror I booked them on the day we leave and can't taken them in until 10am we are leaving at 8am if I had a brain I'd be dangerous all calm now my sister will take them but makes me feel gutted for them mind you I would have made things worse balling my eyes out coz leaving them is still hard did think of taking them with me dog passports etc but me dogs and the ferry I would dread to think what would happen got 4 nights booked in Belgium sent an email with all details of the Dandy, us dates as you would in the UK and bless got an email back saying ok that was that 
the tea towel idea is great too so perhaps you could combine the two for another adventure.
hi ya i am back best laid plans and reality does not work no matter how well you preempted the trip. my son was very ill on the trip down to Dover which set the mood for him and became home sick and was not happy to tour around so I had 2 options keep going as planned but decided that dragging around an unhappy child will be no holiday for me so not one to throw good money after bad I decided to cut my losses and come home BUT on the up side there is always next year and it their 100yr of the tour so that should be special and now I know what it's like over there all plans for next year start now we left at 9.30am ,long drive this end to the bridge so slow and boring over the bridge motorway I will admit even though motorways are faster ( with out works and ques which we didn't have on the way down) I hate motorways so boring as a passenger and as the trip unfolded with my son getting ill and having to stop on the hard shoulder every 10 mins was scary as lorry's thunder passed but we arrived to a we manicured site Black Horse Farm , bunnys hopping around [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] we pitched up on our over night spot [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] legs like jelly we had to climb fights of stairs 
was on my hands and knees screaming for oxygen by the time we got to the top deck I had a tight hold of the table but to be honest it was calm seas and felt like a very quick trip only 2hrs and it ran smoothly back into the car and we were off ... hit by a wall of heat 
must remember what side of the road we have to be on on the first roundabout that you come to there is a sign that gives you instructions on how to go around and that is it you are on your own so more motor way to Belgium (as now i find out that my friend loves motor ways ) find our site for the first 4 nights a municipal site in Hamoir oh and found that on the road DEVIATION means Detour we were told to pitch anywhere we wanted so we chose a lovely spot 15euro a night with electric and all facility's inclusive.
all ok until the moment i'd been waiting for camera poised I was so excited that I forgot to press the button

Could you not stay somewhere in her closer to home for the rest of your holiday? See what grief you can cause there?

didn't think of that will check on that but my biggest gripe was I spent a fortune trying to change over ferry tickets by the third day of trying I exploded at D.F.D.S not that it was their fault as I had book through the caravan club and forever put on hold so had to pay for another ticket £67 to get back that did not make me happy should have seen me having a strop in the middle of a town sq in France had quite funny looks and given a wide birth does he not know my history I nervously laughed and off we went so the next day my son was keen to get back to take the dog out went and got the dog and the owner said he walks on the left as I disappear off down the high street shouting at my friend " how do you say heal in French!" off I went at a rate of knots dog happy to great everyone and everything managed to use my body weight to stop him before we lunged across a busy road . 
all together and BOW on a strangle hold just to cross over..half way across when he decided that he hadn't said hello to the grain of dirt on the pavement we had just left after doing a full pirouette to the amazement of the onlookers I stated " dog pizza man's Bow " with a chuckle and a ahh now that explains it look and understanding off they went as I get dragged across the road down and embankment I threw myself down to the ground as the river be it shallow was no my Idea of walking the dog so when He stopped to welcome to a blade of grass i handed a the lead over to my friend and watched him disappear off into the distance with my son in hot pursuit so I rested until they came back red faced and puffing away the dog still on full pelt we took the dog back then the owner then tells us the commands to control him Ha well he did stay on the left of one of us at some time.so after that we went for an ice-cream Delicious and a pack of dogs ran through ..there is no restrictions on dogs in shops..which was a shock.. and the milk is all long life milk ok in coffee but ruins a good cuppa tea did find that food was expensive we shopped in Aldis and lidls for instance and why I noticed but a jar of nuttella chocolate spread was £4 a jar 
Welcome home Caz ...... sorry it didn't all go to plan but it's horrible being poorly on holiday and even more horrible when your in another country should things get worse. 
and I freaked when we couldn't see land ..... which way do you swim if you can't see where to?
