Pics of our dandy

Hi , we've just returned from a wet and windy week in Wiltshire. While there I have taken some pics. I am new to forums and not sure how to upload so here goes....... If you see a blank screen then I've failed and will need some direction! In this pic shows the bed end, where the roof lining, removable winterising panals on both the sides and the end, (helps with cold bum syndrome!) just behind the pillows on the right the headboard can be seen

In this pic although not very clear are the hinged covers that cover the cooker and the sink (one for each), the little black box on the floor is the footswitch for the waterpump. A little bit of history about our Dandy, when we got it (ebay special) the guy said it had been erected for at least 3 years in his back yard, it was still up when we got there! As a result the finish to the wood work was a little worse for wear so a woodgrain paint to decorate it

In this pic I have shown the external connections at the front of the trailer. The one the being held open is the water inlet, to the right of the pipe is the plug for the power to the pump. Next to the inlet is ... you guessed it ...the outlet. On the far right is a 12v connector where the solar panel plugs in to keep the battery topped up.

Here it is in all its glory including the toilet tent! It has both 12v and 240v power and lighting, the gas cooker is on a quick release connector. I still have alot of things I want to do and ideas of things to try. I think the next will be new suspension units and a bit mor decorating. Working on a Dandy is very addictive!

I'ts very smart and there are some really clever things that have been done already ....... looking forward to seeing what else you do. Thanks for posting the pictures, it's a lovely Dandy.

ooh removable insulation - how does that work?

Mike has put something together for his 6 and i'm going to try it for my 4/5 but be great to see another way of doing it

The removable insulation was done by making panels of fabric with wadding (4oz)sandwiched in the middle for all four sides, and for the end panels 2oz wadding was used. Press studs are used to keep them in place they are screwed to the door and window panels and poprivets used to secure to metalwork. I'll put up thread when I can take pics to explain in more detail

When you get chance to sort it and post it i think i will start a locked thread with both your system and mine in,i can then add any others that come along and we can then have them all in one place.

I agree, you have some very useful features there. I like the aqua roll transportation rack, that's a good way to carry it.

We like that too. It has given us some ideas when we do our front box.
Mrs P likes the chequer plate too.

I am thinking about making something

That is the plan, when time permits. We are thinking of making one to match Phoenix. A light steel frame, clad the same as her sides with ally trims on the corners. We have some small holed steel mesh for the base. It now looks like it is going to have an aqua roll rack too.

The rack is done by using a piece of 25mm ali angle bolted to the lid, and a piece of plastic pipe cut lengthways and put over the top so as not to cut into the tyres. The ratchet strap is secured using two chain links bolted on front and back. Hope this helps

Thanks for that, it is good to have other peoples ideas that have been tried and tested.
