Just got one out and measured as ours are easy to get to. Designer so should be about the same

Including the brackets its 193cms, the actual bar without brackets is 191.5cms ....... I suppose the bar could be slightly shorter on some and the brackets positioned further out to reach the 193cms, hence the odd size of the bar.

I want to put a pole across for a privacy curtain like in "Minnie".

We had some in ours but they had velcro tabs that went over the existing U bar ..... not quite at the right place but near enough to drape. I found it all a bit claustrophobic but can see why people use them especially when John stays in bed longer than me in the mornings and I want to open the dandy door and windows.
