At long last

We have a heatwave on the way    

From the sounds of it we are going to have the hottest weekend of the year and could have up to 9 days of sunshine and high temperatures

  

Are you lucky enough to be going away with your Dandy ?

We can't this weekend but plan a trip away next Thursday ........ just hoping it lasts long enough for us to have some nice weather.

No can't go away, going sailing instead. Guess what there won't be!

Err Wind?  

Not away this weekend in the Dandy but we are going to London for the London Film and Comic Con. Next weekend its the Tewkesbury Medieval Fayre and we are camping 'off site' with Olivia for that so we could do with the nice weather lasting for about 10 days!

Weekend after we're off to Cornwall for our grandsons christening. A week later he'll be 1. Not going with the Dandy though.

Local steam rally this weekend.
Was a washout last year cancelled on the saturday and we all had to evacuate
Not taking Dandy she's all packed ready for later in t he month.
Going with Man in Transit Van + BSA Bantam.
Meeting up with young uns.

What Steam Rally might that be Jennywren?

If you do an internet search on the above you will get all the info they are expecting 50 Big Steamers and lots of other exibits.

Held in the grounds of Melford Hall National Trust property.

Warm enough for you all  

It's been a bit quiet on here, I wonder how many have decided on last minute camping trips  even a one night getaway with a Dandy in this weather can be lovely, you don't have to put the awning up ........ just the Dandy.  

Just came back from four nights away, i put the dandy awning up on my own, it took a while.
But packing up took three hours, so unless you are going away say for a week, i will just put the dandy up. Pete.  

We finally learned not to take too much stuff with us, it took forever to pack and unpack and half the stuff went unused. For us it's not putting the Dandy or awning up that takes the time but putting together and finding places for all the stuff we took and then packing in all away again  We still take too much if going for a week but if it's just a one/two nighter then we just chuck a change of clothes in the car and all the essentials are already in the Dandy ....... we don't bother with the awning for short breaks. The roofbox has been redundant since last year  although we do keep the beers in it at Christmas time in the back garden to keep them chilled.

John's managed to wangle a few days so we are going away to enjoy some of this sunshine  

Thats good enjoy, i drink anything alcoholic except liqueurs Pete.  

It was a gloriously sunny hot weeked at Melford vintage rally.
John went for weekend and I visited friday evening for fish&chips and took grandkids up for a cook out and look around on saturday. John arrived home this evening.

Whilst visiting on Friday I saw a Dandy arrive and set up! when they had done I went over to say hello and talk Dandytalk. It seems they live Just 3miles away from us! and their parents have a Dandy too. Their's is a Brown 5 they are a young couple with a little boy they have had the Dandy about 3 or 4 years and have camped in all weathers. They have a little lad who has slept in dandy since he was about a year old and has a whole side to himself! They told me they don't have a heater but if its cold they put a gas ring on for a short while and soon get warm.
