Feel free to post any pictures of your pet here or any funny stories relating to them.

I split this from another thread as it was straying a bit, I am talking about our dog Bailey rolling in the grass and not my hubby John. affraid

Yep that was me, it couldn't have possibly been the very hairy wet dog on the back seat Shocked

He likes to roll around on his back on grass for some reason even if it is wet scratch

He was magnificant Mike. Very Happy

Here is my old dog Beaux with Bailey. He was still camping aged 17 and loved the dandy apart from the step, he could only get himself in or out of the Dandy if sausages were on offer Rolling Eyes the rest of the time he needed a lift. Laughing
He didn't like Bailey when we first got him but they ended up best buddies. I think dogs choose thier owners and Bailey is definatly John's dog, Beaux was mine.

    Dandy Campers Pets Empty Dexter

Post by Terry Baynham Sun 30 Oct 2011, 2:59 pm

    Hi Everyone.

Please meet Dexter. He is named after a serial Killer from the TV. (He's a nice serial killer who only kills bad people!!) Dexter is a welsh Border Collie who is addicted to puddles and any other kind of water. Here he is in a Horse trough, three feet up in a dry stone wall. The only way you can get him out is by showing him a tennis ball. He has one blue eye and one brown eye which make him look a bit menacing but he'd lick you to death before he'd bite!!

We lost our respective dogs in July & Nov last year. Charlie a long haired GSD and Polly a Staffie Cross, but we now have a couple of rescues.

This is Toby our Doby cross, he is a real gentle giant.
He did his 7 days on death row.
He has been with us about 15 months.

This is Pixie our little Staffie, we went to look at one of her 6 pups she was handed in with, but brought her home instead. She is our little Rebel without a clue.

They both enjoy the Woodburner and getting in the Dandy.

They are both lovely and look really content. I had a staffie when I was a child and she was fab, extremely tolerant too.

Keep saying we won't get another dog and Bailey has now got used to life without Beaux but I don't think we will ever be without one for long and having had a rescue dog I think they really appreciate a good home .......... so you never know Smile

They are both getting settled now. We have had our share of gremlins with them. With rescues you will never know their history. Toby doesn't like being shut in anywhere and has to look out of the lounge window. Pixie had separation anxiety and didn't like being left. We had our first night out together at the weekend and came home to no destruction. cheers cheers cheers

Polly was and Pixie is a very loving dog. Staffies don't deserve the reputation they have, its the owners not the dogs! Evil or Very Mad

Our rescue dog 'Cindy' was very protective of us and the property, perhaps a little too protective Shocked My son has just rescued a dog as she had been stuck in the RSPCA for so long, she had been starved and there was a question mark over her breed but after she was removed from the owners and tested it did come back that she was not a pit bull. She does however suffer from phantom pregnancies and although she is the most timid and laid back dog you could ever meet she did recently damage the sofa during the latest 'pregnancy' affraid It is insured so will be repaired and she is now on tablets and will be neutered as soon as possible. Luckily the sofa is insured and they both have experience of problem dogs and have completed courses. He usually takes her out in the van with him but just this once he didn't

Believe it or not Pixie is the guard dog out of our pair. Like we said earlier Toby likes looking out of the lounge window, in finding this out it first cost us the lounge window blinds. We thought right shut him in the kitchen, that cost us the freezer door and kitchen door arcitrove! Cure don't shut him in and leave lounge blinds up. Pixie thought it was fun to chew various things and have the lounge carpet up, although it does need replacing and that is the trade we are in we did get fed up with repairing it and refitting it when we got home. We have gradually built up the time we are both gone now and can live with her killing an old pair of trainers. Laughing

it's so awful what people do to animals when there is a simple answer - don't have a pet!! i'd love a dog - especially a rescue (there are lots of greyhound rescues round here cos of the racing) but i am at work all day and that's just not fair on them so i haven't got one

but i do love it when people bring dogs (mostly lol) so i can get a fix while i'm there lol!

Dandy Campers Pets Empty Baileys Pal Chuck

Post by Helen Fri 17 Feb 2012, 8:30 am

This is Chuk , Baileys friend. We are now on chuk the 3rd, he has to come camping with us and we can only get replacements at Christmas as it is a stuffed turkey. We only discovered how important Chuk was when we threw the first one away and the dog sulked for two weeks until we found Chuk the 2nd.
