Re: A-Frame Boxes
Depending on how practical you are you could consider making your own.
I saw a posting recently about wood stitch and glue techniques.
It's not something I'd have considered.
Try Googling wood stitch and glue.

We of course don't have the same options as the 4/5 berth owners with the bed going over it,i don't have one because my dandy is on the front garden and yobs would be looking in it all the time, had thought about a wire cage you can see through though just for gas ect when traveling.

As by definition the bed extends over that area. Why not leave the bottle out? The regulator has to be protected from rain that is all.
What size and type of bottle do you use?
I use the 6Kg Propane (7Kg Butane)size it's too big to get in the gas locker.
A full 3.9Kg would more than see you good for the three weeks this summer for cooking. I seem to remember you saying about going non hook up. Are you running a gas fridge or any other large consumer?

got the 3.9 gas bottle but will be getting the folding BBQ ( forgot what you call it ) I have a cool box that runs off a car battery of which I have a spare one Just for that hoping that it will last the 3wks but as we will at some point camp with electric hook up just to charge up what we need it's all and experiment to do the cheapest camp adventure we can

I don't want to disappoint you, but better to disappoint you now than it happen in France.
If your not using an EHU I just don't believe batteries will support an electric cold box.
Most cold boxes are 50 Watts to 60Watts dividing by 12 Volt your looking at 4 Amp to 5 Amp.
Even if you had a big 110 Amp Hour battery which doesn't actually hold a full 110Ah. A few days of heavy discharge and not full re charge (Your hardly driving 4 hours per day) will catch up with you.
It wouldn't work in this country but a big 100 Watt plus solar cell might help things work in the south of France but as per everything else solar cells don't give their quoted output. It's nearer to half...... if your lucky.
You could price up a three way fridge. Ouch there expensive. You could buy second hand. I bought a three way freezer it takes up a lot of space and if you were travelling everyday would need a dedicated electrical connection. Too many amps for a cig lighter connection.
I think you may be down to the old solution of a well insulated cold box and freezing cool packs nightly or buying ice for the same.
Or you could take the even older solution of buying milk meat and butter daily. Then drinking red wine instead of beer. Even cheap red wine is good in France.
Don't believe me ask around.
Bon appetit.
