Sorry if there is a thread relating to this already. I just wondered if anybody knows of any good insurance deals around at the moment for the dandy?

    Thanks

The CC club or the C&CC club are always good choices if you are a member but if not there are plenty of others to choose from, we have currently have ours with Caravan guard now as recommended by another Dandy owner.

We started with this company and at the time got a good deal couldnt stay with them when we got the six as they dont take new units if they are over 20 years old,if you start with them you can stay after the 20 year old rule.

We now use the caravan club

Thanks guys, have had a quote for £59 from CCC. I wasn't too sure of how much we needed to insure the contents for, I suppose I'd have to calculate how much it's all worth or maybe take all the stuff out that we never use, that'll probably save us a fortune lol!

That's around the same as we pay Sharon and worth it for peace of mind. We leave lots in our Dandy as you know but not anything of any real value, the tv comes out and anything else that is of importance, the rest is just cushions and general stuff that can easily be replaced.

We didn't even think about insurance if/when we get our Dandy. Are the above still the best??
As for the £59 qoute Sharon got from ccc... That's HALF what the other 2 have qouted us. maybe it will be worth joining the ccc??!
What security is recomended for Dandys? I will be investing in a hitchlock, and a wheelclamp, but is there anything else I should have? Especially if it ends up staying on the drive. Although I am probably gonna sort the garage out for it.

Ours is through the caravan club £64 not the cheapest but its there lowest tariff, you need to check there conditions we found one at £30 but it wasn't covered for storm damage in the winter when parked at home :affraid:hitch lock and wheel clamp i would recommend at home, because i use both the caravan club let me choose which one on site i opted for the hitch lock.
Another company to consider is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]i was with them for my first one, when i changed dandy it was too old to start with them but once you are with them age doesn't matter.

Just got online qoute fron C&CC for £88, so a little better. Just need to ring them and fine tune it. Could really do with a bit more knowledge of security though if anyone can help.
    Thanks.

ended up with £88 insurance with c&cc club. Got good wheels lock, and decent hitch lock. I found the c&cc asked so much LESS questions. ie. Where will it be kept normally, 1/at home 2/at a lock up.

Whereas some places want to also know 1/athome 1A on drive 1b on the road 1c in a garage. etc etc.
The thing is, some insurance companys will do all they can to get out of a claim, even though you have paid your dues.

Yes it was the get outs with the cheaper ones that made me settle for the cc

Kriston, if yours is a fsirly new Dandy it will be more than the others are paying as it's replacement cost is so much higher and it will be more attractive to thieves.
